As Section Manager, Modelling, National Ratemaking and Business Solutions, Commercial Lines, your role consists of managing the Modelling team within the National Ratemaking and Business Solutions Team for all commercial products nationally. The mandate is to maximize the performance of lost cost models for all regions, lines & coverages. You will be collaborating closely to other National Ratemaking teams which includes responsibilities related to pricing, rate level, and business solutions for Ontario, Atlantic and Western regions. The section manager will have a key role in developing talent and managing people in his or her team of actuarial professionals. The section manager will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing the business plan, and overseeing activities supporting the organization's strategic orientations. More specifically, you will be required to:
Ensure the development, implementation, and monitoring of an action plan for its administrative unit, in line with the strategic orientations of the company and integrated with the other administrative units, in a context of performance management and ambition to grow significantly
Implement management and communication practices that promote change management, skills development, mobilization, talent retention and diversity, consistent with the company's values
Ensure the effective and efficient management and use of resources and processes on an ongoing basis, in a rigorous results-oriented, quality of service and customer-oriented approach
Establish and implement modelling strategies for commercial lines property & liability, and for commercial automobile products nationally, through cutting edge modelling techniques, performance monitoring, and automation
Collaborate closely with pricing manager and rate level manager to help meet their objectives and achieve the department’s overall mandate
Provide actuarial advice and expertise to the analysts of the team in the realization of business projects in a mixed role of coaching and quality assurance, as well as to other sectors of the company for actuarial matters

What you bring to the table
Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or in a related field
A minimum of eight years of relevant experience
Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
Experience in a management role
Experience in coaching and in a team lead role
Fellow of the CAS or FCIA
Knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec
Advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
Knowledge in modeling and analytics
