Summary of Role:

GlobalFoundries Fab 9 located in Essex Junction, VT is seeking a Section Manager - Manufacturing Operations team on the N1 Night Shift. Our manufacturing managers are responsible for leadership and guidance to a department of 20+ production operators.  The ideal candidate will utilize knowledge in semiconductor manufacturing logistics and Lean Manufacturing in the execution and continuous improvement of standard work to meet production commitments.  Managers work in the cleanroom with their employees approximately 9 hours per 12-hour shift.  Daily tasks include execution of standard work, direct employee engagement and supervision, and problem identification and resolution.  Managers are responsible to grow organizational capability through team building, development, feedback, and recognition with employees.

 

N1 Schedule: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday & every other Saturday from 7pm to 7am      

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Meet all production commitments for area of responsibility
  • Ensure adequate staffing to established standards
  • Plan and execute cross training for production operators
  • Direct supervision of employee and tool performance for area of responsibility
  • Identify performance gaps and engage resources as required to resolve
  • Perform all work to current standards and participate in standard work improvement
  • Ensure employees execute work to established standards
  • Monitor, understand and simultaneously manage multiple production challenges
  • Develop and utilize a deep understanding of department equipment, production logistics and people to meet and improve business performance
  • Provide updates and respond to requests regarding department performance and projects to senior management at scheduled meetings or upon request
  • Respond effectively to changing business needs
  • Understand and communicate business updates ensuring linkage to department plans
  • Develop employees and perform all people management responsibilities as required
  • Lead and support projects as required

 

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
  • All other duties as assigned by manager / supervisor

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Education - Associate's degree from an Accredited College and or University
  • Experience - Minimum 1-2 Years Management/People Leadership experience
  • Language Fluency – English (both Written & Verbal)
  • Physical Capacity Demands – ability to wear Clean Room suit and all personal protective equipment required per clean room standards, Extended Standing and Walking
  • Working on the night shift (N1)
  • Working in a fast paced and diverse environment
  • Fluency in Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, Teams, CoPilot, Outlook, etc)
  • Some team leadership experience
  • Monitor factory automation and mobile robotics equipment
  • Engage and react to errors of factory systems and or equipment
  • Identify and address potential areas of improvement and optimize tool availability, cycle time and cost.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an Accredited College and or University
  • Lean Manufacturing
  • Production Logistics
  • Management / Team leadership experience
  • Semiconductor Manufacturing Experience

Expected Salary Range

$72,000.00 - $126,000.00

The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
