Job Details

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Summer Student to join our team and support day-to-day business operations. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with business systems, data management, reporting, and collaborative project work. The successful candidate will contribute to process improvement initiatives, assist with documentation and reporting, and support the team with administrative and operational tasks.

This position is ideal for a student interested in business, operations, project management, contract review, finance, or technology who is eager to learn and develop practical workplace skills.

Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program with a post-secondary institution. Must be able to work between 8 and 40 hours per week, depending on the department's needs.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily operations by working within internal systems and tools to update records, track activities, and maintain accurate data.
  • Assist in preparing reports, dashboards, and summaries using Microsoft Excel, including organizing and analyzing data.
  • Provide administrative and project support, including tracking timelines, maintaining documentation, and coordinating tasks across team members.
  • Assist with the review of standard documents and contracts at a high level, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Support process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance workflow efficiency and organization.
  • Prepare presentations and supporting materials using Microsoft PowerPoint and maintain communication through Microsoft Outlook.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to support shared goals and deliverables.
  • Communicate professionally with internal stakeholders and provide excellent customer service support when required.
  • Maintain organized records and ensure information is documented clearly and consistently.
  • Contribute to special projects and other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate information and identify practical solutions.
  • Comfortable working with technology and learning new systems quickly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and Outlook; experience working with spreadsheets and data is an asset.
  • Basic project coordination or project management skills are considered an asset.
  • Customer service experience is considered an asset.
  • Interest in business operations, administration, or process improvement is beneficial.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
  • Self-motivated, accountable, flexible, and eager to learn.

The successful candidate may have daily contacts with unilingual English-speaking customers, patients or peers from cross-functional teams.

Salary Range*

$37,700 CAD - 55,990 CAD
