REQ6392 Seamstress / Seamer, Valet & Laundry (Open)
Will be responsible for using an industrial sewing machine to make proactive or requested alterations to guest garments, including hemming pants and other repairs such as mending and button and zipper replacing as needed.
- Ensure delivery of the highest standards of guest service at all times.
- Presenting a pleasant and positive attitude to the customers.
- Complete requested garment alterations within specified timelines and to the highest degree of accuracy possible.
- Knowing which garments can/cannot be altered and understanding different fabrics/styling.
- Working rapidly and accurately. Using all alterations equipment (pressers, sewing machines, etc.) appropriately and following department safety rules.
- Good in guest interaction, ordering responsibilities, clean up duties and clerical responsibilities.
- Be an actively contributing team member; communicate effectively and look to collaborate to foster a strong team environment. Marking garments correctly; ability to follow makings done by others.
- Achieve productivity goals; work with managers on alterations room and process enhancements.
- Abide by all company policies and procedures; proactively work with management to continually understand and embrace our operational foundation
- Keep work area clean and safe.
Experience (please indicate minimum required and preferred experiences)
Minimum of 3 years seamstress/alterations experience with high-end merchandise
Education (please indicate minimum and preferred academic requirements)
- High school or equivalent
- Must be able to communicate both written and orally
Skills / Competencies (please indicate requisite competencies that are qualified for the position)
- Knowledge of different types of stitching, fitting, and alterations.
- High degree of work accuracy a must.
- Full knowledge of the complete alterations process is required by hand sewing and sewing machine. Understanding of draping, fabrication and pressing.
- Ability to work within a fast-paced, deadline and service oriented environment.
- The ability to work independently, pay close attention to detail, and produce high quality sewing results are all required.
