About the role:

The SEA Compliance Specialist 4 is responsible for working on their own and leading the resolution of varied and non-routine compliance issues, exercising independent judgment and creative solutioning to resolve complex subscription challenges. The SEA Compliance Specialist 4 may coordinate activities of other team members to ensure completion of regional SEAP programs and provides mentoring and guidance to newer team members.

What you will do:

  • Team and Program Management
  • Forecast and report subscription bookings related to SEAP activities, working closely with sales.

  • Consolidate analytics and reporting to aid sales consultation on account selection strategy for SEAP engagement.

  • Manage relationships with 3rd party partners retained for customer reviews and program consultation.

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for negotiation and resolution of compliance findings identified by SEAP.

  • Sales and Negotiation

  • Identify, inspire, and guide subscription bookings related to direct and influence engagement of Sales Teams.

  • Lead complex negotiations with clients to secure optimal subscription terms, pricing, and conditions.

  • Identify new opportunities and negotiate agreements that align with business objectives and licensing models, strengthening client relationships.

  • Compliance and Asset Management

  • Provide strategic advice to internal stakeholders on licensing models and changes to align with business goals.

  • Advisory and Strategy

  • Manage the deployment and renewal of subscription licenses, ensuring the appropriate subscriptions are in place and the underlying terms and reporting needs are understood.

  • Consult with the Legal team to customize and edit order forms and contracts relevant to SEAP provisions.

  • Monitor subscription usage to maintain compliance with licensing terms, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations to avoid penalties.

What you will bring:

  •  5+ years of experience in OpenSource/SaaS/software sales, program management, or software license compliance.

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred, but not required.

  • Combined background in direct selling of services and subscriptions; familiarity with renewals and consumption-based business models.

  • Ability to articulate and understand contract language. 

  • Experience supporting efforts to manage and track software/subscription usage.

  • Expertise in managing subscription adherence and entitlement validation.

  • Proven ability to interpret data sets to identify subscription discrepancies.

  • Experience creating, interpreting and reviewing detailed compliance and entitlement reports.

  • Skill in spotting and mitigating compliance risks within assigned accounts.

  • Soft Skills and Business Acumen

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; excellent presentation skills.

  • Exceptional business insight, analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to apply a quantitative approach to program management.

  • Solid financial and operational understanding of value drivers in OpenSource business models; analytical and process-oriented mindset.

  • Understand how compliance impacts revenue and renewal cycles.

  • Ability to work effectively with sales, partners, product management, and legal teams.

  • Proficiency in preparing and delivering subscription messaging.

  • Experience creating materials to aid compliance education.

  • Language: English (required).

The salary range for this position is $150,910.00 - $241,440.00 (inclusive of base pay + target incentive compensation). Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
