Position Summary
The SDK Release Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating software development kit (SDK) releases across multiple platforms (Android, iOS, and Web), ensuring smooth delivery of patches, updates, and major versions to development teams and customers.
In this role, you will:
Release Management & Coordination:
Execute SDK patch releases across Android, iOS, and Web platforms
Process and evaluate cherry-pick requests for bug fixes and feature updates
Coordinate with development teams to schedule and deliver release candidates
Manage parallel, customer-specific release tracks with independent cadences and testing gates
Maintain concurrent major version release branches across all platforms
Triage and deliver high volumes of daily release requests, including urgent same-day hotfixes and patches
Technical Operations:
Monitor CI/CD pipeline health and troubleshoot build failures
Resolve merge conflicts and technical issues during cherry-pick processes
Work with platform teams to address infrastructure disruptions (GitHub, CircleCI)
Coordinate with automation tools and release bots for streamlined processes
Own and improve release automation tooling, including Slack-based request bots and cherry-pick workflows
Perform SDK version bumps and pipeline merges for customer-specific builds as needed
Documentation & Communication:
Create and maintain technical documentation and how-to guides for development teams
Communicate release updates and availability to stakeholders
Provide regular updates on release activities and blockers
Coordinate with Apps & Solutions teams on SDK integration processes
Deliver hands-on training sessions for customer and internal teams on CI and release processes
Maintain customer-specific release documentation, including roles, responsibilities, and escalation paths
Strategic Planning:
Plan major version releases and coordinate breaking changes across teams
Manage release schedules and timelines for client deliverables
Collaborate on SDK roadmap planning and version lifecycle management
Coordinate version lifecycle transitions across customers on different SDK major versions
Team Collaboration:
Mentor developers on release and build processes
Coordinate with multiple engineering teams and customers
About You:
Strong technical background in mobile SDK development and CI/CD systems
Experience with Git workflows, cherry-picking, and release branch management
Knowledge of Android, iOS, and Web development ecosystems
Excellent communication and coordination skills
Problem-solving abilities for technical infrastructure issues
Experience with automation tools and release management systems

Work Location:
We have a mix of office-centric roles based in our vibrant Toronto office, and remote-eligible roles based anywhere in Canada or US. Each job posting will indicate where the role will be based. Regardless of the role’s posted location, all Toronto-area Leaguers (living within 65 km of our downtown HQ) collaborate in-office Monday through Thursday. Depending on your distance to the office, you’ll enjoy 10 or 20 Flexible Remote Days each quarter for focus and deep-work time.
