Description
Your Role:
As the Sovereign Defence Initiatives (SDI) Specialist within the KC-30A Program, you will contribute to sovereign industrial aircraft Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul, and Upgrade Capability. SDI Initiatives are supply chain optimisation projects that establish or broaden sovereign industry capability or enhance NGA’s capabilities. SDI Initiatives include but are not limited to:
- Partnering with a non-Australian company (e.g., an OEM) to bring them and their capability into Australia and establishing an Australian entity with an ABN; or
- Onboarding or transitioning an Australian supplier to replace an overseas supplier; or
- Onboarding or expanding the services of an Australian MRO company to replace MRO services currently undertaken overseas (e.g., with Intellectual Property/Technical Data (IP/TD) licensing); or
- A make/buy/develop decision: manufacturing a product in Australia that is currently manufactured overseas (e.g., upskilling local staff or developing local capability); or
- Extending an existing supplier on one Program across all Programs (e.g., where there are costs associated with expansion that are to be borne in whole or part by NGA or the Customer).
You will have accountability for:
- Working across the KC-30A Program to identify SDI opportunities.
- Engaging with functional support to interrogate usage rates, repair codes and turnaround times to establish value for money arguments for SDI opportunities.
- Developing Business Cases using the NGA SDI Framework
- Monitoring and controlling SDI project progress against baselines
- Supporting program-level reporting and governance by providing accurate SDI project data, gate reviews and performance insights.
- Developing and Managing SDI projects plans, schedules, budgets and resources to achieve deliverables
About You:
Sovereign Defence Initiatives Specialist will have experience within Defence, aerospace or complex engineering environments. You will also have:
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
- Knowledge of project management tools (e.g. MS Project)
- Ability to manage several complex tasks with multiple dependencies
- Knowledge of ASDEFCON and CASG Framework
