Scrum Master Virtual Internship

SAN RAMON Full time

Are you passionate about team dynamics, process optimization, and helping technical teams reach their full potential? Join our high-performing Engineering team and play a key role in facilitating the delivery of top-notch applications! If you are a natural leader who loves solving organizational puzzles, then the Scrum Master Virtual Internship is for you.

As a Scrum Master Intern, you’ll gain exposure to the inner workings of an enterprise software delivery lifecycle. You will work alongside Engineering Managers and Lead Developers to remove blockers, facilitate ceremonies, and ensure our Agile processes are lean and effective. This is your chance to see how high-scale projects move from concept to deployment and to make a direct impact on team velocity and morale.

What You’ll Do

  • Facilitate Agile Ceremonies: Learn to lead Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Retrospectives, and Demos, ensuring the team stays focused and aligned.

  • Support the Product Backlog: Partner with Product Owners to help refine user stories, ensure acceptance criteria are clear, and keep the backlog healthy.

  • Remove Impediments: Proactively identify "roadblocks" that slow the team down and work with stakeholders to clear the path for our engineers.

  • Track Metrics & Velocity: Use tools like Jira or Azure DevOps to monitor sprint progress, visualize data, and help the team understand their performance trends.

  • Champion Agile Culture: Promote a culture of continuous improvement, transparency, and collaborative problem-solving within a virtual environment.

  • Learn Technical Context: Gain a unique skillset at the intersection of project management and software engineering by working with teams building LLM-integrated apps and complex CRM systems.

What You’ll Need

  • Academic Background: Be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program (Business, IT Management, Computer Science, Communications, or related) with a graduation year of 2027.

  • Foundational Knowledge: A basic understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and the software development life cycle (SDLC).

  • Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, empathy, and "servant-leadership" qualities. You should be comfortable speaking in front of a group.

  • Organization: Strong attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple moving parts in a fast-paced environment.

  • Critical Thinking: Curiosity to ask "why" and the analytical skills to suggest process improvements.

  • Availability: Ability to work full 40-hour weeks virtually from June 17 - August 7, 2026 (dates are fixed).

  • Work Authorization: Applicants must have authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.

Bonus

  • Tools: Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Trello, or Azure DevOps.

  • Certifications: Interest in or progress toward a CSM (Certified Scrum Master) or PSM (Professional Scrum Master) designation.

  • Technical Literacy: A basic understanding of cloud technologies or coding, enough to follow technical discussions during stand-ups.

  • AI Interest: Curiosity about how AI tools can be used to automate project management tasks or improve team productivity.
