What is the Opportunity?

Digital Cheque Processing Group is seeking a high-performing and motivated Scrum Master to join its Agile Delivery team. We are a technology team driving software solutions supporting cheques processing and returns of cheques from other financial institutions, indirect clearers, and corporate clients through various channels.

In this role, you will be collaborating with Technology, Operations and Business partners to ensure successful delivery of initiative objectives. You will be responsible for mobilizing and leading the delivery with internal and external stakeholders, champion a culture of continuous improvement within the delivery practice and removing any impediments that obstruct a team’s pursuit of its goals.

What will you do?

  • Lead Agile delivery from initiation through release, providing oversight to ensure alignment with RBC’s Enterprise Initiative Management framework and practices.

  • Collaborate with Product Owner, stakeholders and solution teams to develop release plans and prioritize deliverables

  • Facilitate discussions supporting decision-making, goal setting and conflict resolution

  • Remove impediments to success delivery through the proactive management of external dependencies, problem-solving and the development of new solutions or approaches to ongoing challenges

  • Accountable for creating and maintaining appropriate vehicles for open communication within the scrum team to create a trusting and safe team environment

  • Communicate cross functionally, ensuring transparency of progress and outcomes and facilitate status updates, product demos and retrospectives

  • Provide proactive coaching to the team and recommend process improvements to optimize team productivity

  • Creative self-starter and efficiency advocate committed to continuous improvement

  • Growth mind-set coupled with an understanding that relationships and human interaction are key to leading teams

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • 2+ years of experience as a Scrum Master/Delivery Manager

  • Knowledge of project management best practices, Agile, SDLC and PMLC methodologies

  • Excellent interpersonal, clear and concise communication (written and verbal), and relationship building skills

  • Skillful in Project Management and team collaboration tools, JIRA, Confluence

  • Certified Scrum Master/PMP Certification or equivalent

Nice to have:

  • Banking experience in particular Technology and Operations teams

  • Adopted AI tools as part of daily workflows and exploring new opportunities for further efficiency improvement
