The Scrum Master for the HRIS team will serve as the agile facilitator and JIRA administrator, ensuring smooth execution of Workday enhancements, HRIS projects and updates to business process workflows. This role will partner closely with the Workday config specialists and product owners, HR stakeholders, and technology teams to maintain discipline, governance and tracking, to optimize JIRA usage, and drive continuous improvement in HRIS delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Agile Facilitation
Lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospective sessions for HRIS/Workday projects.
Support team members on agile questions and principles and ensure adherence to internal Scrum process.
Remove impediments and escalate issues to ensure timely delivery of HRIS initiatives.
JIRA Administration
Configure and maintain JIRA boards, workflows, and dashboards for HRIS projects.
Manage user permissions, issue types, and automation rules to streamline HRIS processes. Collaborate with IT as required on updates and JIRA maintenance.
Monitor and report on sprint progress, velocity, and key metrics for leadership.
Project Coordination
Collaborate with HRIS team to prioritize backlog items related to Workday enhancements, integrations, and compliance tasks.
Support documentation of processes, test plans, and release notes in JIRA.
Participate in the ongoing design, configuration, deployment, and maintenance of Workday projects
Be prepared to project manage smaller initiatives as needed within the team.
Stakeholder Engagement
Partner with HR, IT, and Finance teams to ensure cross-functional alignment on HRIS deliverables and data flows.
Communicate status updates and risks to leadership and project sponsors.
HRIS Team Support
Collaborate and coordinate across HR functional areas to ensure requests comply with policies and procedures
Leverage resources within Workday Community to identify processes to streamline and improve system functionality and usage
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, or related field.
4-6 years of experience as a Scrum Master, Agile Project Coordinator or equivalent.
Strong knowledge of JIRA administration and agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban).
Familiarity with HRIS platforms (Workday strongly preferred) and HR processes.
Excellent facilitation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with HRIS projects, including business process configurations, integrations and security audits.
Experience working with confidential and sensitive HR/payroll information and critical business processes required
Experience generating reports and metrics both for operational purposes as well as executive summaries.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
A keen interest in optimizing HR processes and leveraging technology to improve the efficiency and consistency.
The expected base salary ranges from $120,000.00 - $140,000.00. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, including but not limited to Medical, Dental and 401k that begin on day one of employment, successful candidates are also eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
