Overview

Strategic Corporate lending (SCL) provides lending governance and oversight across EUR 100bn+ of relationship lending exposure to Investment Grade and High Yield multinational corporates and non-bank financial institutions. In this role, you will serve as a senior relationship manager, driving strategic business selection using a combination of quantitative (Profitability/Revenue/Balance Sheet) and qualitative metrics. You will lead the end-to-end review of lending proposals through a regional forum with coverage/product partners and senior leadership across SCL, Investment Banking (IB), and Corporate Banking (CB). You will own the client lending relationship at the sector level with an aim to optimize balance sheet deployment and risk-adjusted returns. As senior transaction manager, you will oversee loan execution and, post-closing, drive sustained client profitability through disciplined delivery of committed franchise revenues via regular portfolio reviews, client/sector deep dives, and initiatives aligned with the bank’s strategic priorities.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop an in-depth understanding and knowledge of the clients in your respective Industry sectors
  • Own your lending clients through ongoing portfolio reviews and management of post-closing action items
  • Serve as senior point responsible for evaluating and processing loan requests for current and prospective clients
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners to gather required information and apply judgment to accurately model, price, and assess transaction profitability
  • Lead strategic initiatives in coordination with SCL Senior management to help drive revenue and client profitability

How You’ll Lead

  • Partner closely with senior CB & IB coverage and product leadership to shape client strategy, prioritize opportunities, and align on lending outcomes
  • Coordinate with SCL Risk, Credit Risk Management and Legal to evaluate structure, risk appetite, and documentation requirements across lending transactions
  • Lead and mentor junior relationship managers on the Governance team, providing coaching, oversight, and quality control across portfolio reviews and execution deliverables

Skills You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree (or internationally recognized equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field; Master’s and/or CFA a plus
  • Demonstrated proficiency in syndicated loan markets, corporate finance, and related banking products
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Proven ability to evaluate transactions, including profitability and return metrics (e.g., RoRWA/SVA), credit, and balance sheet impact

Expectations

It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York is $140,000 to $217,000 . Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
