About the Job
 

The Scientist is a key role in CMC Biologics Drug Product and Manufacturing.  You will be part of a global team focused on fast-paced, high quality drug development from early phase through commercialization.  This person will be responsible for will play a critical role in designing, executing, and analyzing data from laboratory based studies working on different facets of drug product formulation and process development, across multiple modalities including monoclonal antibodies (mAb), multi-specific antibodies, therapeutic enzymes, and fusion proteins.  Formulation work would include both liquid and lyophilized formulation development, and process characterization from early phase 1 through phase 3 drug product development.

The ideal candidate will possess drug product process development experience across multiple unit operations as well as understanding of the impact on manufacturing.  This person will work closely with manufacturing and process engineering to ensure robust process characterization study design with emphasis on first principles.  Experience with digital process design and translation of process characterization into robust digital tools (simulation and modeling) is necessary.

Main responsibilities:

 

  • Support product and process development studies for a variety of biologic modalities.

  • Improve and maintain existing process design tools and databases (R-Shiny apps, Java Apps, general process modeling, etc.).

  • Be a key part of a team in the Formulation and Process Development group, facilitating the development of multiple protein modalities from early stage (FIH) through commercialization.

  • Be responsible for planning, executing, and supporting formulation development, process development, and eventual tech transfer of programs to clinical and commercial manufacturing sites.

 

About You

  • Experience: Understanding of biologics manufacturing and process development, particularly in drug product, knowledge of fundamental biopharmaceutical principles, basic understanding of tech transfer or manufacturing, basic knowledge of LEAN principles and processes, experience in development or use of modelling and digital tools especially valuable.

  • Education: Master’s degree with minimum 2 years of relevant industry experience -OR- Bachelor’s degree with minimum 4 years of relevant industry experience.

  • Soft and technical skills:  Team and project oriented with strong motivation and work ethic, good communication skills.

The salary range for this position is:

$85.500,00 - $123.500,00
