Job Description Summary:

Location: Singapore CPS Plant

Role Type: Individual Contributor

Please note: The selected candidate will need to be based in Singapore CPS Plant. This is an Individual Contributor position.

Our ASEAN & South Pacific (ASP) Innovation Center sits at the heart of The Coca-Cola Company’s next chapter of growth. We are committed to transforming and evolving our organization and ambitions — bringing our people closer to the consumer, continuously raising the bar, and embracing digitalization to enable sustainable growth. We are looking for a highly driven individual contributor who thrives on ownership and impact, and who fuels the innovation pipeline with bold ideas that translate into real-world results. This role is not about maintaining the status quo; it is about challenging assumptions, unlocking opportunity, and personally driving valuable breakthrough innovation within the Tea category. You will apply deep product development expertise to lead tea innovation from concept to execution, contributing to a strong and diverse global and regional Tea portfolio — accelerating growth and helping shape the future of the category.

As Scientist, Product (Tea), you will bring tea concepts to life through hands-on formulation, testing, and commercialization. You will work closely with the Global Tea GDI team and regional stakeholders, applying consumer insights and digital tools to ensure products meet taste, quality, regulatory, stability, cost, and manufacturing requirements. This is an execution-focused role for a technically curious problem-solver with strong bench skills and a consumer-centric mindset, who wants to deepen expertise in tea-based beverages while contributing to high-impact innovation launches.

What You’ll Do for Us:

Create Tea Prototypes & Formulations

  • Develop lab-scale tea beverage recipes (bases, syrups, and finished beverages) driven by global and regional consumer insights, following GMP and company protocols.

  • Analyze global formulas to identify harmonization, lift & shift, and localization opportunities within the Tea portfolio.

Test, Learn, Improve

  • Conduct sensory, analytical, and shelf-life testing in collaboration with Microbiology and Stability teams.

  • Independently execute stability evaluations, including visual assessment, analytical testing requests, and accelerated testing (illumination and temperature protocols).

  • Track, document, and interpret results, and clearly communicate findings and recommendations.

Scale Up for Market

  • Support pilot and commercial trials for tea innovations, ensuring formulation robustness, ingredient feasibility, cost targets, and packaging compatibility.

Category & Competitive Insights

  • Track and analyze global competitor tea products to identify learnings and opportunities for TCCC.

  • Prepare samples for consumer tests and internal tastings; organize and lead tasting sessions, including materials, feedback capture, and documentation.

Collaborate Broadly

  • Partner closely with Global and Regional GDI, Marketing, SRA, Supply Chain, Packaging, Quality, TCR, Chemistry/Analytical, Ingredient Quality, and Product Commercialization teams.

  • Contribute technical insights to cross-functional discussions under manager or project lead guidance.

Maintain Excellence

  • Own accurate formula entry and updates in formula management systems.

  • Maintain high standards in lab safety, documentation, data integrity, and record retention.

  • Keep lab equipment and workspaces compliant and audit-ready.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Agricultural Sciences, Biology, or related fields.

  • 1–3 years of experience in product development, preferably in beverages; tea experience is a strong advantage.

  • Understanding of beverage formulation, ingredient functionality, and processing fundamentals.

  • Familiarity with sensory evaluation, analytical testing, and shelf-life assessment.

  • Ability to:

    • Connect daily technical work to project and business goals.

    • Apply consumer and competitor insights to product design.

    • Analyze problems independently and propose practical, science-based solutions.

    • Deliver high-quality technical work with increasing autonomy.

    • Communicate complex technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

    • Lead by example and informally mentor others as needed.

  • Fluency in English; additional regional languages are a plus.

  • Regional and International Travel up to 10–15%.
