Job Description and Responsibilities
We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team in Brisbane, CA, and support the development of genetic medicines utilizing GenEdit’s proprietary hydrophilic nanoparticle (HNP) platform. This position will work full-time in our wet labs to support nanoparticle formulation activities and will report to a scientist in our product and process development (PPD) team. This position will be expected to execute at a high level in the lab, keep detailed lab records, execute, optimize, and develop analytical techniques, and cooperate efficiently with other technicians and scientists.

Education and Qualifications
·       PhD (or BS/MS with significant experience) in nanoparticle sciences and formulation
·       3+ years of relevant hands-on lab experience, ideally in an industry setting
·       Required: expertise in nanoparticle formulation and related analytical characterization: optimization of mRNA and small molecule encapsulation mixing methods (IJM, microfluidics), light scattering and zeta potential (DLS, MALS), quantitative fluorescence assays (RiboGreen, fluorescamine)
·       Highly preferred: nanoparticle scale-up manufacturing and process development including purification and concentration methods (TFF, UF/DF, sterile filtration, analytical HPLC) and standard molecular and cell biology techniques including UV-Vis, gel electrophoresis, protein expression characterization (western blot, ELISA, flow cytometry, FlowJo) and transfection of mammalian tissue culture
·       Capable of independent experimental design, execution, and technical trouble shooting
·       Ability to efficiently execute in the lab, develop standard operating procedures with precise reproducibility, and maintain detailed electronic lab notebook records
·       Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
·       Work authorization in the US is required
