Job Summary: This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Major Duties:

  • You will execute software system safety on weapon systems and military equipment.
  • You will apply professional competence of the theoretical foundations of computer science, including computer system architecture and system software organization.
  • You will provide software development, integration and T and E expertise to plan and execute activities to verify and/or validate and assess system performance.
  • You will conduct software safety tests, and develop Safety Requirement Criteria Analysis (SRCA) and software Fault Tree Analyses; review software test plans, procedures, and reports to ensure safety requirements are adequately tested.
  • You will develop Hazards Analyses and Safety assessments.

Qualifications: TO QUALIFY FOR ND-4: In addition to basic education requirements, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower band, ND-03 (GS-09/11 equivalent grade level) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional scientist, applying engineering/scientific theories, concepts, and practices to support the development, integration, testing, and safety analysis of software for weapons systems for an organization. TO QUALIFY FOR ND-3: In addition to basic education requirements, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower band, ND-02 (GS-05/08 equivalent grade level) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional scientist, applying engineering/scientific theories, concepts, and practices to assist with or conduct research related to the development of software system safety utilizing basic techniques, procedures, and methods.
