The SSC division seeks to provide opportunities for people to forge a connection to science — whether for the first time or a lifetime. POSITION SUMMARY

The Science, Society & Culture division is looking for a motivated intern for the summer of 2026. This is an outstanding opportunity for an individual interested in developing a career in science and math engagement. This individual will gain insight into the different ways we connect scientists to public engagement opportunities, from our national math initiative to our monthly public events series.

This paid internship is full-time with a 40 hour work week. It will take place on-site at the Simons Foundation offices from June 1 through August 14, 2026.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Document and organize researcher engagement opportunities with community groups who might be interested in working with scientists for the first time.
  • Contribute to our communications about our researcher engagement efforts, including writing and researching stories for the website and other communications.
  • Assist with in-person SSC researcher engagement opportunities, including our flagship public event series, Presents, specifically contributing to operational planning, delivery, tracking, and evaluation.
  • Perform any other duties or tasks as assigned or required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Enrollment in or completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Strong interest in science and/or math engagement.
  • Must be detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and highly organized
  • Must be an excellent team player
  • Software proficient and eager to learn new platforms — must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint

COMPENSATION
