Job Description:

The LSU School of Music is seeking a temporary Operations Assistant (or Operations Coordinator) to support the Director of Operations with a range of administrative and operational responsibilities during the summer of 2026. This position will play a key role in closing out the current academic year’s operations, conducting annual inventory processes, and preparing facilities, resources, and workflows for the upcoming academic year.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Year-end tasks—cleaning lockers, prepping rooms, redistributing equipment, building checks, 30%

  • Annual inventory assistance, 30%

  • Documenting and training—training incoming student workers and creating procedural guides for next year’s operations, 30%

  • Assist with summer events and facility rentals, 5%

  • Additional duties as assigned, 5%

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education Level: Bachelor's

  • Degree substitute: LSU values skills, experience, and expertise. Candidates who have relevant experience in key job responsibilities are encouraged to apply—a degree is not required as long as the candidate meets the required years of experience specified

  • Specific experience: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; proficiency in basic computer applications.
