About The Role

 

Verifone is looking for a seasoned professional from the Payments & Financial Services Industry to join the Scheme Compliance expert team to fulfill the role as Scheme Compliance Officer.

Verifone is looking for the right candidate that has experience in Scheme Compliance and governance while having the strategic oversight, is action driven and motivated towards further building and shaping the Verifone strategy. Verifone is a renowned and established company with global operations and a strong payments presence.  

The position will report directly to the Director Scheme Compliance.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Being the gatekeeper between the Verifone acquirers’ gateways and Verifone gateways for scheme related compliance
  • Ensure compliance with Card Scheme regulations as well as building a robust card scheme management framework focused on the gateways and physical devices.
  • Be the point of contact for Card schemes, acquirers and internal Verifone stakeholders.
  • Provide advice to the different teams on relevant Card Scheme items and impact.
  • Implement a card scheme knowledge center that is proactive tackling card scheme changes and updates, aligning it with the various acquirers that Verifone uses.

Primary deliverables with the team are:

  • Awareness of the Card Schemes regulations, including fees and technical charges. Have a clear overview of the financial technical landscape of the company and services offered.
  • Monitor and take actions related to the implementation of important industry changes and card scheme compliance requirements according to acquirers’ readiness.
  • Communicates with merchants and partners in relation to risk and compliance investigations; prepare internal analysis of the case.
  • Makes key individual contributions to the team’s work products when needed to ensure quality requirements and/or required delivery timelines are met.
  • Participate in the development, implementation and update of risk management processes and procedures.
  • Take timely actions to prevent financial loss.
  • Work to develop and maintain internal knowledge base related to card scheme compliance requirements.
  • Understanding of Visa and Mastercard payment processing, including compliance requirements, operational framework, and regulatory  obligations, is essential.
  • Industry Trends & Advocacy - Responsibilities could include monitoring industry trends and advising leadership on regulatory changes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration - Clarify coordination with legal, finance, product, engineering and risk management teams.
