Job Description:
Baptist Health is looking for a Scheduling and Financial Clearance Supervisor to join their team in Louisville.
The Financial Clearance Center Supervisor assists the Financial Clearance Center Manager with provision of leadership to Financial Clearance Center staff. The Supervisor is responsible for supporting and training staff for the following duties: obtain and validate orders, insurance verification, obtaining prior authorizations from insurance companies, compliance, pre-service estimates, enterprise wide
financial transparency, payment plans, scheduling, pre-registration and Medicaid referrals and charity prescreening. The supervisor assists the manager with tactical and operational decisions to sustain a high level of customer service, staff satisfaction and to generate optimal financial results. The goals of the center are to provide excellent customer service, improve financial clearance and reduce operating expenses associated with payment denials/delays. The supervisor is responsible for assistance with further development of the Patient Financial Experience. Effective Financial Clearance ensures a seamless patient financial experience.
Essential Duties:
• Review daily activities and workflow of staff to optimize customer service.
• Facilitate patient care.
• Drive financial performance.
• Defines clear roles and responsibilities instilling in staff: accountability and responsibility for quality and results.
• Escalates interdepartmental performance issues to the Manager/Director if needed. Arranges interdepartmental meetings to diagnose and solve problems which adversely impact best practice. Develops strong working relationships with multi-department teams.
• Conducts formal performance evaluations on a timely basis and conducts timely counseling (as needed).
• Coordinates and facilitates the delivery of training to staff.
• Ensures staff has effective computer systems, work tools and supplies to execute their assigned tasks.
• Coordinates staff scheduling and work assignments. Manages staffing problems and counsel’s staff per hospital attendance policy. Ensures accurate time record keeping for payroll.
• Provides coverage for Patient Access in cases of staff shortages.
• Provides proactive recruitment and selection of new employees in conjunction with Manager/Director and human resources department.
Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required
High School/GED
Three years minimum job-related experience required.
