This position is designed to manage all incoming calls and complete a scheduled appointment to the appropriate resource unit. The employee screens all calls provided by a physician office, off-site facility, or other resource unit collecting demographic, financial and clinical information required to complete an automated scheduled appointment. This position is critical for all customer needs and future interaction between patients, off-site facilities, physician offices and resources within the corporation.
Licensure or other certifications:
Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum Experience: One (1) year of medical secretarial or data entry required.

Medical experience is desirable
CRT experience, business office experience, including a minimum typing speed of 40 wpm

Coordinates and is accountable for scheduling appointments received from physician offices, patients, other facilities and resource units within the organization.
Screens all calls and accurately schedules appointments.
Collects patient demographic, medical and financial information and records accurately.
Performs follow-up with resource units to obtain any incomplete information for scheduling purposes.
Accurately completes manual appointments when automated system is “in service.”
Facilitates communication with patients, physicians, physician office staff and other NGHS resource units.
Produces resource schedules or patient itinerary upon request.
Ensures appropriate routing of accurate messages.
Communicates with co-workers information and changes relevant to direct responsibilities.
Contributes and is responsible for the automated scheduling department.
Compiles statistical, referral and departmental activity as requested.
Completes reports, policies/procedures and other correspondence as requested by department manager accurately, neatly and timely.
Pro-actively resolves conflicts, scheduling problems, and completing assignments in a timely manner.
Contributes to the productive and effective operation of the scheduling department.
Participates in training and orientation of new employees.
Communicates effectively and demonstrates good customer service and interpersonal skills.
