The Scheduling Coordinator independently schedules complex, multi‑specialty imaging appointments within the electronic medical record to ensure timely and accurate patient access to care. This role partners with various care teams, patients, and referring providers to coordinate imaging services, optimize workflow, and enhance the overall patient and provider experience

on-site position hours Monday-Friday 830-1700 or 10's 7-1730

General Requirements:  

The Specialty Scheduler role is essential for coordinating advanced imaging and procedural exams, including MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, General procedures, Sedation Team cases, and Interventional Radiology (IR).

  • Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.

  • Collects and validates patient demographic and provider information to accurately assess imaging requests. Determines appropriate appointment timing and location based on exam requirements and patient needs.

  • Schedules imaging procedures accurately and efficiently to support timely patient access to care. Provides clear exam instructions and pertinent information to ensure patient preparedness.

  • Serves as a liaison among imaging departments, physicians, hospital staff, patients, families, and referring providers. Communicates scheduling changes promptly to all affected parties. 5. Coordinates timely and accurate information sharing with RIS/PACS staff, radiologists, department leadership, IT, and other imaging system users. Supports effective use of imaging information systems to maintain workflow continuity.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of healthcare experience utilizing medical terminology and/or insurance codes preferred.

  • Working knowledge of computer systems and clinical healthcare information systems preferred, including patient management, scheduling, and patient accounting applications.

  • General office and business protocol knowledge preferred.
