In India, Shell Mobility operates 200+ retail stations, offering integrated services including fuels, Shell Café, convenience stores, and a growing EV charging network. Shell India is also investing in renewable energy and digital innovation, supporting the country’s net-zero ambitions. Procurement in this space involves strategic sourcing, supplier engagement, and contract management to support Shell’s evolving mobility offerings and infrastructure development.

What’s the role?

The Supply Chain Commercial Lead – Mobility Business will be part of the Mobility Supply chain organisation and responsible to deliver Top Quartile Procurement and Contract Management strategies and execution related to Mobility Marketing/Network in accordance with Category Management & Contracting Process. All value creation and improvement initiatives must be aligned with Mobility organization ensuring an improved total cost of ownership and seamless implementation together with business.

The Supply Chain Commercial Lead – Mobility will also be responsible for key relationship management & interface with the Mobility India Business, to provide pro-active strategic procurement and contracts management of all goods and services supplied by third party vendors from within/and from outside the country.

You will be responsible to deliver value and cost improvements to meet the business targets, using market intelligence, stakeholder needs analysis, contracting strategy development & implementation, tendering and other levers.

As a Supply Chain Commercial Lead you will be responsible to lead procurement activities that will support the initiatives which are either in scope for engineering, maintenance, equipment, EV and other such categories specific to Network Domain or for Marketing categories i.e. Payment and loyalty, Brand & Communications (B&C) and Non-Fuel Retail (NFR)/ Convenience Retail (CR) in the Mobility Business. negotiation, and contract management.

Key stakeholders:

  • Internal: Mobility Marketing, e-Mobility/business mobility, Contract/Category Managers, other Supply Chain Commercial Leads Shell Brand team, HSSE, Finance, Legal, etc.
  • External: Key Account Managers, Decision makers of strategic brands that have a potential of partnering with Shell Mobility Business and can help Shell in maximising value in coming years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead in developing and executing the sourcing / procurement strategies related to Mobility Marketing/Network categories in collaboration with the Category Managers, the Contract Holders and Owners based on Category Management & Contracting Process.
  • Lead local implementation of Global and Enterprise Frame Agreements by establishing and maintaining the supplier relationship for key contracts, i.e. Engg, Maintenance, Shell Asia program, Fleet Card, Terminal contracts, Promotions etc. at local level in the country. 
  • Proactively engage the Mobility team regularly, to understand Country plans, priorities, requirements and ensure compliance with established procurement & category strategies, policies and procedures. (Brand guidelines, Worker welfare, licensing. Intellectual property etc.)
  • Lead and steer tendering and deal negotiation with a commercial mindset to drive value optimization and savings.
  • Manage & Support Global and Regional supplier relationships, commercial negotiations, implementation providing a conduit between Shell and suppliers in the resolution of operational, supplier performance issues & conflicts, as necessary.
  • Ensure that the maximum benefit is derived from the strategic procurement of Mobility spend. Continuously help markets to identify and drive Opex/Capex savings and value delivery opportunities. 
  • Lead or work with CP Managers & Mobility Business in implementing continuous improvement initiatives, cost reduction initiatives and local business projects.

What we need from you?

  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 5-10 years of work experience, MBA would be an advantage.
  • Candidate must have minimum 5 years’ experience in managing e2e procurement or Supply chain including e2e life cycle of Tactical contracts, including developing sourcing strategies & execution, Deal making & Negotiations (including planning & execution), Contract & Supplier performance management.
  • Candidate must have sound understanding of Category Management and Contracting Process and conversant in the use of procurement tools such as Ariba, e-Oscar, GSAP etc., strong in data analysis and data crunching.
  • Strong commercial acumen, proven track record of execution excellence and delivering results.
  • Candidates pursuing MCIPS / ISM / other procurement/supply chain certification will be preferred, though not mandatory.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to influence people across all levels (ability to lead without authority and influence sometimes disparate teams)
  • Familiar with Mobility and good knowledge of supply market in India.
  • Comfortable with developing and challenging business cases.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and virtually (self-starter, able to work under their own initiative and problem solve)
  • Results driven and performance focus.
  • Ability to prioritize and deliver to multiple stakeholders with differing needs.
  • Ability to work and deliver in virtual teams in a cross-cultural environment with strong stakeholder management skills
