The SBB Risk Strategy Manager has the exciting opportunity to increase the use of automated credit decisions to improve customer and colleague experience through a combination of advanced data analytics, project management, technology delivery and risk assessment skills to develop and execute on Small Business Banking (SBB) automated credit strategies. Reporting to the Senior Manager, SBB Credit Policy & Risk Strategy – the position holds the key responsibility to drive a continuous increase in automated credit decisions for SBB Credit to reduce end to end credit cycle time, improve customer & employee experience, and grow profitable market share. A successful candidate would accomplish this via supporting the continuous review and improvement of key strategy initiatives (e.g. SBB Auto Adjudication, Small Business Offers, Automated Review Strategy, etc.), via collaboration across multiple teams within the Fund My Business (FMB) Journey and alongside other partners and stakeholders.

As SBB Risk Strategy Manager within Fund My Business (FMB) Journey the successful candidate will:
Conduct advanced data analysis to deliver recommendations to both build new and improve upon existing automated credit strategies, with the two main standing objectives of:
Increasing Automation
Enhancing Risk Identifcation
Explore opportunities to use data in new ways and leverage the latest statistical techniques to deliver automated credit decision strategies, including the potential to apply machine learning to develop automated strategies.
Exercise good credit judgment and strong partner management skills to achieve a balanced recommendation which aligns with the broader business objectives of Business Banking, while maintaining the appropriate level of risk oversight and adherence to the Bank's risk appetite.
Work to obtain consensus support for recommendations from relevant partner groups, management and senior executives via strong written and verbal presentation skills.
Understand the various proprietary and external models and scoring systems used to support SBB (e.g. Layer 6 Account Management, SDC, ERS, etc.)
Coordinate with Technology Partners to ensure any technology solution accurately reflects the business requirements and is designed in such a manner to ensure maximum flexibility for future strategy enhancements.
Be involved in the successful implementation of any strategy, including oversight of the testing / quality control of changes and potential post-implementation reviews.
Represent SBB Credit Product as a subject matter expert on various projects and initiatives.
Adapt to challenges/opportunities as presented to contribute both directly and indirectly to:
Achieving Business Banking credit volume and revenue targets
Supporting Business Banking product, policy and strategy initiatives and launches
Maintaining awareness and tracking of relevant risk trends and credit performance metrics
Build and maintain a network of contacts to assist with the effective completion of this role., working with key stakeholders and partners including from Retail Risk Management (RRM) and Platform, Credit Cards, Small Business Credit Centre (SBCC), Change Management etc.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert on SBB Provision for Credit Losses (PCL), understanding credit risk issues, trends, and proactively identifying opportunities related to the credit risk profile & performance of the SBB Credit portfolio
Job Requirements :
Ability to establish and leverage working relationships across diverse groups within the Bank.
Drive analytical insights using data, including the use of coding languages such as SAS, SQL, Python, R, etc.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong technical Excel skills, and the demonstrated ability to work with a variety of other PC applications, such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Access
Self-motivated, demonstrates a ‘sense of urgency’ where required.
Independently organized, with the ability to coordinate multiple simultaneous tasks and deliverables.
Ability to work effectively in a constantly changing environment, requiring ongoing re-evaluation of priorities and management of multiple concurrent deadlines.
Familiarity with Business Banking and/or Small Business Banking credit products and processes is considered an asset
Familiarity with Risk Management concepts and or Risk/Credit experience is considered an asset.
