JOB POSITION

• Carelon Global Solutions India is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer with advanced SAS programming and SQL/database expertise to support data-driven decision-making across business functions.
• This hybrid role combines strong data analysis capabilities with technical development skills to create scalable, reliable reporting and analytics solutions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

• Design and develop complex SAS programs for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
• Write efficient and optimized SQL queries to manipulate and retrieve data from relational databases.
• Develop, automate, and maintain business performance reports and dashboards using BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Analyze large, complex data sets to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and implement effective data solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineering, business stakeholders, and product teams.
• Ensure high data quality, integrity, and governance in all analytical work.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and provide training on SAS-based tools and SQL processes.

QUALIFICATION

Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Statistics, Information Systems, or related field.

EXPERIENCE

• 2 - 4 years of hands-on experience in data analytics and business intelligence.
• Advanced SAS programming skills (Base SAS, macros, procedures, data steps, etc.).
• Experience with reading and processing IBM Mainframe files is a plus.
• Strong SQL proficiency, with experience in querying, joining, and optimizing large data sets.
• Solid understanding of relational database concepts (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, Snowflake).
• Experience using BI/reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced, and collaborative environment.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Experience with EFX (Equifax tools) and other AI/ML tools is a plus.
• Experience with healthcare data (claims, providers, utilization) is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with data warehousing, ETL tools, or cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.
• Exposure to additional languages like Python or R is beneficial.
