About the role:

The SAP Senior Manager is responsible for the performance and development of the SAP deposit team. The role is responsible for determining SAP design and configuration solutions that translate business needs into development requirements. This individual will be responsible for requirements planning and management; elicit, analyze and validate requirements for new or existing processes, policies, and information systems. The SAP senior manager will act as a subject matter expert on SAP Banking system and be the key advisor to business leads, IT leadership & PMO teams on all SAP Deposits related initiatives The SAP senior manager will also support, develop and mentor SAP deposit support team in post-production support, projects and career development.

Guidance and Assistance with Technical Teams

  • Collaborate with business analysts, functional consultants, and developers to assess current technical capabilities.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Encourage open communication and diverse perspectives to foster innovation and arrive at optimal solutions.

Mitigate Downtime and High Priority Issues

  • Implement rigorous quality reviews during design, development, and testing cycles.
  • Ensure adherence to established design, process, and quality standards.
  • Proactively identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions.

Project Status Communication and Escalation

  • Provide regular updates on project progress to the Project Manager or Director of Business Services.
  • Escalate issues promptly to ensure timely resolution and maintain project momentum.
  • Maintain transparency and integrity in all communications.

Adherence to Processes and Standards

  • Ensure team members follow the system development life cycle (SDLC), Agile-Scrum principles and project management methodologies.
  • Promote accountability and continuous improvement.

Building Strong Partnerships and Influencer Skills

  • Meet regularly with leadership (VPs, directors, managers) to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Build relationships at all levels, demonstrating empathy, respect, and influencer skills.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that breaks down silos and encourages cross-functional teamwork.

Support Annual Planning and Estimation

  • Provide accurate estimates for project timelines and budgets during annual planning.
  • Align project and product management initiatives with both existing and evolving corporate objectives.

Technical Training and Knowledge Transfer

  • Offer technical training to junior team members, ensuring knowledge transfer for complex business processes and system configurations.
  • Utilize mentorship and coaching to develop talent and cultivate high performance.

Coaching, Mentoring, and Performance Management

  • Develop, coach, and mentor a team of highly functional and technical staff.
  • Provide regular feedback on performance and contributions, both periodically and during formal review periods.
  • Contribute to annual objectives and development goals for team members and the IT Business Services group.

Continuous Personal and Team Development

  • Continually enhance your own skills and encourage team members to seek new areas for development.
  • Discuss and implement process improvements, maintaining awareness of functional best practices.
  • Partner with the user community and business leadership to anticipate and address future technology needs.

What we’re looking for:

  • 5+ Years in managing core banking application teams
  • 10+ years’ experience in financial services industry (preferably Retail banking domain)
  • Expertise in application architecture related work (preferably within SAP Banking domain)
  • Experience in leading SAP or core banking implementation projects.
  • 5+ Years of experience in people management and leading teams.
  • Strong knowledge in Agile-Scrum principles is essential.
  • Certification in SAP FICO or SAP Banking is desired.
  • Skilled in managing Software Product Development processes and design workshops.
  • Deep knowledge of platform integration patterns and APIs, system integrations, development of architectural/high level designs within defined SAP architecture frameworks.
  • Defect management experience for post-production support.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to ideate with business stakeholders and present the solution options.

What you can expect - pay & process:

  • Expected base salary range is 130,000$ - 140,000$ , plus the opportunity to earn an annual incentive bonus tied to performance.
