YOUR ROLE
As a SAP Master Data you will manage and support the electronic exchange of business documents—including Material Releases, Purchase Orders, Invoices, and ASNs—between Aptiv and its customers and suppliers.
This role is responsible for maintaining SAP master data critical for EDI communications, coordinating EDI implementations, and serving as the bridge between business operations and IT systems to ensure seamless, compliant, and timely data exchange in a fast-paced automotive environment.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and support EDI implementations and deployments for new and existing customers and suppliers.
- Submit and manage EDI/System requests (RITMs) and Fast Track requests with the Service team.
- Create and maintain Ship-To / Plant relationship setups in OpenText-GXS.
- Participate in project meetings and communicate EDI implementation status to stakeholders.
- Interface with Customer Service, Finance, Program Readiness, IT, and other business departments to ensure smooth EDI and SAP integration.
- Analyze EDI formats (X12, XML, EDIFACT) and incorporate them into business processes.
- Reuse existing EDI maps for new implementations to optimize costs and timelines.
- Monitor failed ASNs, invoices, and inbound EDI transactions reported by OpenText-GXS; collaborate with Customer Service BPO to prevent recurrence.
- Analyze EDI map logic against SAP IDocs and customer EDI implementation guidelines.
- Act as BPO Global Changes and Implementations lead, validating and approving EDI map solutions and assessing SAP system impacts.
- Maintain SAP master data tables related to Ship-To, Plant, and other EDI-relevant configurations.
- Manage SAP email configurations for:
- Automatic customs clearance (Pro-Forma invoices)
- Automatic Bill of Lading (BOL)
- JITCALL customer communications
- Provide vendor subcontracting support and assist with customer business transfers.
- Support JCOM activities, including:
- Granting JCOM access to Customer Service, Program Readiness, and GBS Finance
- Initiating JCOM account PO requests based on usage
- Distributing JCOM notices to relevant teams
- Sign invoices for payment release and assist Finance with past-due invoice resolution.
- Support identification and resolution of JITCALL, Manifest, and Call-off discrepancies in finance reports.
- Assist with consignment system configuration and issue resolution.
- Support BTO program deployments and customer launches.
- Participate in UAT workshops and provide post go-live support.
- Download and distribute EDI 824 rejection reports (ASN and Invoice).
- Open and manage tickets with customers’ EDI providers to resolve EDI issues.
- Provide EDI raw data and notify the business of system or EDI downtime.
- Travel as required to support new program launches.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Must Haves (Basic Qualifications):
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
· 3+ years of experience working with SAP, including Master Data management.
· Hands-on experience with OpenText – GXS and J-Com.
· Proficiency in EDI standards: ANSI X12, XML, and EDIFACT.
· Experience with communication protocols such as FTP, SFTP, and related technologies.
· Previous experience working with automotive customers and suppliers.
· Knowledge of SAP IDocs and EDI-to-SAP integration.
· Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and BI tools (Power BI, Qlik, Tableau).
· Advanced proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and enterprise applications.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
· Strong interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-paced environment.
· Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making.
