Hiring: SAP ABAP Developer

We’re looking for a SAP ABAP Developer to join us at Telia!

I am Virginija Patackienė, Hiring Manager, and I am leading SAP Finance & Analytics Solutions team at Telia Group IT. I am looking forward to strengthening our SAP team to help us out with all the exciting work we do!

This role (full stack developer) is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting SAP applications and extensions using ABAPSAP Fiori, and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), including applied AI capabilities

The Developer supports business users by delivering custom developments, enhancements, and user experience improvements across the SAP landscape, primarily in SAP S/4HANA environments. The role also contributes to the adoption of AI-enabled use cases on BTP, such as automation, intelligent insights, and decision support. 

What you’ll do:

  • Design, develop, and maintain ABAP developments in SAP S/4HANA, including reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms, and APIs.​
  • Develop and enhance SAP Fiori / SAPUI5 applications, focusing on usability, performance, and business value.​
  • Support and maintain existing custom developments, including incident resolution and troubleshooting.​
  • Deliver minor to medium-sized enhancements across the SAP landscape, following SAP development standards and best practices.​
  • Build and support extensions on SAP BTP, including side-by-side applications and integrations.​
  • Apply AI capabilities on BTP (e.g., SAP AI services, embedded AI, automation, or analytics) to support business use cases.​
  • Collaborate with SAP functional and technical teams, IT Solution architects and Service managers to translate business requirements into technical designs and implementations.​
  • Support testing activities (UT, SIT, UAT), deployments, and go-live/hypercare support.​
  • Ensure code quality through documentation, reviews, and adherence to SAP development and security guidelines.​
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of development practices, tools, and reusable components.​
  • Operate according to ITIL practices, SAP change management standards, and agile delivery frameworks (e.g., SAFe), using tools such as JIRA and SAP transport management.​

What will help you thrive in this role: ​​

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).​
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with SAP ABAP development, preferably in SAPS/4HANA environments.​
  • Experience developing SAP Fiori / SAPUI5 applications.​
  • Working knowledge of SAP BTP, including extension concepts and cloud-based development.​
  • Exposure to AI-related services or use cases on SAP BTP (e.g., intelligent automation, AI services, or analytics).​
  • Experience supporting SAP custom developments in an operational environment.​
  • Understanding of SAP integration concepts and collaboration with integration and Basis teams.​
  • Familiarity with SAP transport and change management processes.​
  • Experience working in agile or hybrid delivery models.​
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).​
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a pragmatic, business-oriented mindset.​
  • Good communication skills to collaborate with business and technical stakeholders.​
  • Flexibility to take on-call duty after working hours, during weekends and public holidays, and support business-critical incidents outside regular working hours when necessary

Monthly salary range for this position –4300 – 6400 Eur (gross) + annual performance bonuses.  Although it may vary depending on your skills and experience.
