Sanding Lead

Marucci Sports, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fox Factory, was founded by two former MLB players and their athletic trainer who began handcrafting bats for some of the best players in the game from their garage in 2004. Fast forward to today, that dedication to quality and understanding of players’ needs has turned Marucci into an All-American success story, the number one bat preferred by players and The Official Bat of Major League Baseball (MLB).

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for helping the Sanding Supervisor oversee the team, while tracking production progress, ensuring quality standards and production goals are met, while maintaining the workflow.

Position Responsibilities:

• Sand and finish wood composite baseball bats to a high-quality standard.
• Review output of other team members to ensure quality standards are met.
• Provide recommendations when needed to improve manufacturing processes.
• Operate and maintain equipment.
• Ensures compliance with quality, environmental and safety standards.
• Train and mentor team members on proper techniques and safety procedures.
• Monitors machinery, processes and work layouts.
• May conduct safety and training programs for the production line.
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues quickly and effectively.
• Apply coatings and finishes to enhance the performance and durability of the bat
• Assist record production data, quality metrics, and provide feedback to management.
• Maintains and coaches standard work practices across all processes

Specific Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required:

• Strong leadership capability and experience
• Strong manufacturing knowledge
• Ability to use various sanding tools and equipment
• Knowledge of different wood composite materials and their characteristics
• Position Qualifications:

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

• 2+ years of manufacturing or sanding experience required

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

• Production/Manufacturing environment
• Lifts up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
• Requires walking, standing, bending and lifting for long periods of time
• Vision abilities required to validate and enter data on computer
