Salesforce Release Engineer

Location: India

Time – US Hours/EMEA Hours

What you will do:

Oversee and coordinate release management processes across multiple Salesforce organizations. This role is critical in ensuring smooth, timely, and compliant deployments while maintaining system integrity and minimizing disruption. You will manage Salesforce standard releases, sandbox refreshes, and support DevOps automation using Azure Pipelines, collaborating closely with development and business teams.  This role will require working to US hours to support release activities in that area.

How you will do it:

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate Salesforce releases across multiple orgs, including pre-deployment risk assessment, deployment planning, and post-release activities.
  • Plan and publish detailed Release Calendars for each Salesforce instance.
  • Monitor release progress, proactively identifying and mitigating risks and issues.
  • Ensure adherence to governance and change management best practices.
  • Collaborate with global development and operations teams to ensure efficient and reliable release cycles.
  • Communicate timelines, requirements, and expectations clearly to technical and business stakeholders.
  • Liaise with the JCI Change Management Board for request approvals and implementation coordination.
  • Evaluate change requests for potential downstream impacts on Salesforce environments.
  • Operate an effective sandbox management process in alignment with the release calendar.
  • Maintain and optimize Azure DevOps Pipelines to support automated deployments and improve release efficiency.
  • Continuously improve release management processes, tools, and automation to enhance efficiency and quality. 
  • Partner with the Salesforce on upcoming platform changes, releases, and organisation health reviews.

What we are looking for:

  • Proven 6 years+ experience as a Salesforce Release Engineer in a multi org environment
  • Third level Degree in IT related field. Ideal candidate would hold Salesforce Platform Development Lifecycle and Deployment Architect Certification or multiple SFDC certifications with a minimum of Platform Developer II.
  • Proven experience creating & customizing Azure DevOps Pipelines for Salesforce metadata and code deployments.
  • Deep understanding of the Salesforce platform, architecture, and release lifecycle. Hands-on experience with Apex, Salesforce Objects, integrations, data manipulation, and security models.
  • Experienced in Salesforce metadata, deployment tools (e.g., SFDX, Change Sets), and sandbox management. Proficiency with project tracking tools e.g. Jira, or similar.
  • Strong problem solver with excellent communication skills, ability to lead and set the agenda with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
