The Data, Technology and Innovation (DTI) division enables the FCA to be a digital-first, data-led smart regulator by delivering a secure, agile, and cost-effective technology and data ecosystem that drives better decisions, transparency, and operational efficiency.

Sitting within DTI, the Digital Systems team delivers the systems that enable the FCA to be a more effective and smarter regulator.

 Role responsibilities

  • Implement complex Salesforce solutions using declarative and programmatic platform tools such as Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows and Agentforce for Developers, enabling robust and scalable system capabilities and delivering high‑quality, secure and well‑architected solutions aligned with Salesforce best practice

  • Act as the technical authority for Salesforce within a hybrid engineering team by applying Clean Code, SOLID principles and Apex Enterprise Patterns, elevating development consistency and standards and ensuring the team produces reliable, maintainable and future‑proof code

  • Produce comprehensive and thorough testing through high‑coverage unit tests and close collaboration with testers on feature, performance and end‑to‑end testing, improving product stability and confidence in releases and supporting an effective Testing Pyramid approach

  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation for all delivered solutions, improving clarity, knowledge sharing and long‑term supportability and ensuring stakeholders and developers can easily understand and extend the system

  • Support and refactor existing Salesforce applications, resolving defects and improving performance, security and code quality, enhancing operational reliability and system lifespan and contributing to cleaner, more maintainable legacy codebases through recognised refactoring and design pattern principles

  • Design, implement and maintain integrations between Salesforce and other platforms primarily via REST APIs, enabling seamless data exchange and process automation and supporting wider business functions through reliable and secure interoperability

  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary and Agile teams, engaging closely with engineering, product and delivery stakeholders to gather requirements and align designs, ensuring solutions meet business objectives and compliance needs and promoting effective communication and smooth delivery throughout the software lifecycle

Skills required 

Minimum:

  • Demonstrated background in Apex Enterprise Patterns, advanced Salesforce Flows, and building Lightning Web Components (LWCs) to create scalable, maintainable solutions

  • Deep knowledge of Clean Code and Clean Architecture standards, along with refactoring best practices and software design patterns

Essential:

  • Experience using Copado as a native CI/CD tool to manage, automate, and deploy Salesforce changes across environments

  • Deep knowledge of Salesforce architecture, data model, security model, and both declarative and programmatic development tools

  • Experienced in diagnosing and resolving technical issues efficiently; Salesforce certifications are beneficial but not a replacement for practical experience

  • Solid grasp of SOLID principles and Test‑Driven Development (TDD) practices

  • Demonstrated background in Apex Enterprise Patterns, advanced Salesforce Flows, and building Lightning Web Components (LWCs) to create scalable, maintainable solutions
