Collaboration with sales:
• Responsible for finding the optimal building integration capability to meet the customer’s needs for non-standard and modernisation cases
• Responsible for designing electrical, software and APF Solution interfaces (e.g. cloud integrations, network, IoT and data interfaces)
• Participates in customer meetings and answers customers’ technical questions when needed
• Selects the correct integration platform on which to make the offering
• Proposes solutions from all KONE business lines; new services, escalators, elevators, doors etc.
System integration plan – Costing
• Involves NSS, KONE IT, R&D, sourcing and other relevant parties to understand the integration total cost during setting up and during operation
Solution plan – Specs:
• Creates IT architecture specifications for KONE scope (including IT data flow diagrams)
• Accountable for technical site surveys for integration capability assessments (VB cases)
• Accountable for the technical content of the order between MS 0b and MS 2z for integrations e.g. IT tools, physical components, data connections etc.
Solution plan – Availability and lead times
• Coordinates building integration lead times for NSS, KONE IT, R&D, local sourcing and other relevant parties
Solution plan – Installability
• Ensures that the proposed system integration elements and solution can be installed for the product in question
• Ensures that the cost and work effort impact of the installation is part of the solution’s costing
Solution plan – Maintainability
• Ensures that the proposed system integration method fulfils the customer’s product lifecycle needs
• Identifies deviations from standard maintenance methods and ensures that a resolution is found
Solution plan – Compliance
• Ensures that the proposed system integration fulfils local codes, regulations and safety requirements
• Ensures that the proposed system integration solution fulfils connectivity, network architecture, access control systems, IoT and cyber security requirements
• Ensures that the planned system integration complies with KONE engineering policy
Key tasks in the KONE Customer process
• Provides content for pre-tender and pre-booking reviews (data flows, IT architecture, costs, lead times, risks, verification of technical content in contracts)
• Executes activities for holistic system integration design
Key tasks in the KONE Delivery process
• Accountable for the creation of data flows and IT architecture images
• Analyses change requirements, and makes proposals for new system integration plans
• Documents how the build integrations will be maintained and operated
• Provides the required details to the CSE Specialist for ordering materials and completing the documentation process
• Proposes change order (variations and addworks) sales opportunities to the Project Manager
• Provides system integration-related information to Project Managers, Installation Supervisors and Maintenance Supervisors
• Coordinates and executes the integration testing
CSE Engineer, System role in the KONE SEB process
• Shares knowledge with maintenance as needed
• Participates in major system upgrades verification and validations
General responsibilities
• Participates in product and new services release information-sharing sessions
• Provides technical trainings to Sales, Installation and Maintenance as per Front Line needs
• Provides input to CSE Engineer, Solution; CSE Engineer, Product and CSE Engineer, Project
• Provides details and definitions to CSE Specialists
• Offers input to the product offering management about interface requirements for the portfolio
• Contributes to the Customer Solutions Engineering virtual and local network
• Contributes to and utilises the Customer Solutions Engineering case library
• Is the primary FL contact person for KONE IT, SL and NSS for system integrations
