EPC Technical Pre-Sales

Overview

 

The EPC Technical Pre-Sales professional acts as a crucial bridge between sales and technical teams, providing both functional and technical expertise across all facets of EPC solutions. This role is responsible for engaging with customers, delivering technical presentations, supporting sales cycles, and ensuring solutions are tailored to client needs.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Engagement
    • Interact with existing and prospective clients to understand their requirements and demonstrate how EPC solutions address their needs.
    • Identify areas of concern or misalignment and provide clear, timely responses to client queries.
    • Gather and analyse information to develop a comprehensive understanding of customer technology infrastructures.
  • Demonstrations & Presentations
    • Deliver product demonstrations, presentations, and workshops (virtual and on-site) to showcase solution capabilities and architecture.
    • Utilise tools such as PowerPoint, Visio, and FIS internal VTK.
  • RFI/RFP Management
    • Lead and contribute to responses for RFIs and RFPs, providing detailed technical input across a wide range of non-functional topics (e.g., integration, security, high availability, disaster recovery, monitoring, third-party tooling, roadmaps, payment regulations).
  • Documentation
    • Develop and maintain pre-sales documentation, including presentations, brochures, and technical specifications.
  • Collaboration
    • Work closely with sales, product, and engineering teams to ensure alignment and successful outcomes.
    • Gather and analyse information from internal sources to understand current products and future direction.
  • Solution Design
    • Collaborate with product and functional pre-sales colleagues to develop and present cohesive solutions that meet or exceed customer requirements.
  • Technical Requirement Write-Up
    • Support professional services projects, including leading Project Definition Study (PDS) workshops and producing associated documentation.
  • Proof of Concepts (POCs)
    • Plan and organise POCs to enable customers to evaluate products/services in their own environments.
  • Technical Support
    • Provide pre-sales technical support and guidance to sales teams and customers globally.
  • Training
    • Train sales teams on product features, technical details, and the competitive landscape.

 

Required Expertise

  • Technical Expertise
    • General understanding of payments; knowledge of FIS payment EPC products is advantageous.
    • Awareness of current and emerging industry technologies.
    • Demonstrable experience with:
    • Kubernetes
    • Oracle, PostgreSQL
    • Kafka
    • REST API
    • OpenID (OIDC)
    • Cloud Service Providers (AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud, Oracle Cloud)
    • MQ
    • SIEM tooling (e.g., Splunk)
  • General Expertise
    • Experience in customer-facing engagements.
    • Proficient in delivering demos and presentations to large audiences, both virtually and in person.
    • Track record of responding to complex RFIs/RFPs.
    • Ability to extract requirements from customer interactions.
    • Experience writing in-depth technical documentation and proposal specifications.
    • Participation in large, complex projects and contributing to solution design.
