Your Role: Sales Representative- US Farm Animal Packaged Goods (Dairy)

As a Dairy Packaged Goods Account Manager, you’ll create demand and secure sales by delivering and demonstrating the value of Elanco Animal Health products to direct customers and influencers. As a Territory Account Manager, you’ll manage the territory through a yearly action plan, account plans, expense management and appropriate communications consistent with Elanco's business unit marketing and sales objectives. The sales territory consists of dairy customers, veterinarians, resellers, farm retail customers and distribution contacts.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Territory Management: Plan, analyze and execute territory, account and budget plans to meet performance and sales objectives within the Package Goods Business Unit.  Implement and appropriately execute selling cycles, marketing programs and initiatives.  Plan and implement territory specific sales promotions, customer meetings and key customer outings and incentives.
  • Understand customer needs to provide valuable solutions through Elanco products, ensuring a customer-centric approach in all interactions.
  • Product Knowledge and Sales: Demonstrate technical fluency by successfully positioning all Elanco Cattle products and services through key messages, scientific information and product expertise.
  • Collaboration with Account Teams: You will work closely with cross-functional Elanco account teams, which may include marketing, technical support, Channel, Retail and Vet KAM, and customer service representatives. Collaborating with these teams will help you provide comprehensive solutions to your customers and ensure a seamless customer experience. You will share customer insights, collaborate on marketing campaigns, coordinate product demonstrations, and address any customer concerns or issues that may arise.
  • Product Knowledge and Sales: Demonstrate technical fluency by successfully positioning all Elanco Cattle products and services through key messages, scientific information and product expertise.

 

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, agriculture or agricultural related field or High School Diploma/ GED with equivalent level of experience
  • Required Experience: 3 years of experience and knowledge of the Dairy industry
  • Previous experience with Veterinary and/or Nutritional professions/industry
  • Previous sales experience within the dairy industry.
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Elanco Animal Health does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position. 

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):

  • Prior experience in sales within the dairy sector in the territory geography, demonstrating a solid understanding of the customer base.
  • Candidates with strong leadership skills will be highly regarded, showcasing the ability to lead and drive sales initiatives effectively.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage effectively with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • A strong passion for animal agriculture and specifically the dairy business is desired, reflecting genuine enthusiasm and commitment to the industry.

 

Additional Information:

  • Location: Must live in the territory (Western New York).
  • Travel: Up to 50%. This territory will require extensive travel, with overnights needed as customer needs demand.

Elanco currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from $85,300 to $143,000 depending partly on the successful candidate’s qualifications, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending partly on company and individual performance). Additionally, Elanco offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees that includes a company-matching 401(k); vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities). Of course, the compensation is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described above.
