This role is part of Alcon's Sales & Sales Support function, a team that helps provide access to products across all channels in an effort to drive customer satisfaction with eye care professionals to help people see brilliantly. The Sales Representative is primarily responsible for delivering sales targets, developing business plans, and promoting Alcon products (Contact lenses) in their territory. You will build relationships with key opinion leaders, enhance sales and marketing knowledge, and stay informed about the health provision environment for Cape Town area. Specifics include:

• Deliver performance and meet or exceed sales targets within agreed budgets

• Prepare and implement account development and territory business plans, maintaining existing clients and developing new business opportunities

• Manage area sales and expense budgets

• Gain formulary acceptance and increase product usage by identifying and developing key opinion leaders for product endorsement

• Improve clinical sales and marketing knowledge of promoted and competitor products

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the health provision environment and apply the science behind the molecule and concept behind managing the Therapeutic Area for effective customer influencing

• Ensure compliance with all corporate compliance guidelines and corporate programs, including participation in mandatory and corporate trainings

• Fulfill obligations towards Good Pharmacovigilance Practice (GPvP) and adhere to timely reporting of Adverse Event and Product Complaint reporting within 24 hours to Drug Safety

• Possess technical skills and knowledge of the eye, including ophthalmic anatomy, pharmacology, disease conditions, and appropriate therapy options

• Understand competitor’s products and differentiate our advantages based on practitioner’s needs, wants, and motivators

• Cooperate in all programs and activities of the company

WE ARE SEEKING:

  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in a similar role

  • Highly appreciated optometrist experience/background

  • Bachelor´s degree commercial/pharma. Ideally optometrist studies.

  • High learning agility and adaptability

  • Fluent English. Afrikaans is an advantage

  • Driving License

  • Strong business and selling acumen and negotiation skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both technically and interpersonally
