Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Typical working day is 8.45am – 5.15pm but flexibility will be required.

Role Purpose

The Sales and Marketing Manager is responsible for planning and executing student recruitment and marketing strategies to achieve enrolment targets across domestic and international markets. The role requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on delivery, ensuring the College drives growth, visibility, generates high-quality leads, and converts these into student enrolments.

This position will work closely with the Admissions Manager, the Director of International Recruitment and the Academic Leadership team to align marketing and sales activity with institutional priorities and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Sales / Student Recruitment

  • Drive student recruitment activities to meet agreed enrolment targets across undergraduate, postgraduate, online and professional programmes in agreed markets.

  • Manage the enquiry-to-enrolment pipeline, ensuring timely and effective follow-up of leads.

  • Ensure we deliver high-quality sales presentations to prospective students, parents, schools, and corporate partners.

  • Build and maintain relationships with feeder schools and corporate partners to grow enrolment channels and build visibility.

  • Track and report on sales performance, providing accurate forecasts and analysis.

  • Oversee CRM systems to track enquiries, leads, and conversions efficiently.

  • Report sales funnel metrics to Senior Leadership on a weekly basis
     

Marketing

  • Develop and implement integrated marketing campaigns (digital, print, events, PR) to build awareness and attract students.

  • Oversee the College’s digital presence, including the website, social media channels, and online advertising campaigns.

  • Collaborate with academic teams to create compelling programme-specific marketing content.

  • Monitor competitor activity and student trends to refine marketing and sales strategies.

  • Plan and manage open days, recruitment fairs, information sessions and promotional events for the College.

  • Utilise analytics to measure campaign effectiveness and inform future strategy.

  • Launch DBS Online and develop a digital marketing strategy to drive student enrolments 

  • Launch DBS Tomorrow and develop marketing strategies to support events and enrolments
     

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Work closely with Admissions to ensure a smooth handover of leads to applications and an efficient conversion to enrolments.

  • Provide line management to the marketing team and sales team.

  • Engage with international teams to support campaigns targeting overseas markets.

  • Represent the College externally at recruitment events, conferences, and partnership meetings.
     

Compliance/Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with advertising, GDPR, and sectoral regulations in all marketing and sales activity.

  • Produce regular reports on marketing ROI, lead generation, and recruitment outcomes.

  • Undertake other duties commensurate with the level of the post as may reasonably be required by the Chief Commercial Officer

Person Specification

Essential

  • Proven experience in sales and/or marketing within higher education, private education, or a related sector.

  • Demonstrable track record of meeting or exceeding sales/recruitment targets.

  • Experience in digital marketing, including social media management, content creation, and campaign management.

  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.

  • Strong knowledge of CRM systems and automation tools.

  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and projects simultaneously.

  • Experience of managing teams in a busy and dynamic environment.

  • Commercially minded, results-driven, and data-informed approach.
     

Desirable

  • Experience in student recruitment or working in a sales role in Higher education

  • Knowledge of Irish and international higher education markets.

  • Postgraduate qualification in marketing, business, or related discipline.
     

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Achievement of annual student recruitment targets across assigned markets and programmes.

  • Growth in lead generation metrics (website traffic, enquiries, event attendance).

  • Conversion rates from enquiry to application to enrolment.

  • ROI on marketing campaigns and events.

  • Strength and growth of external partnerships (schools, corporates).
