Location/Division Specific Information
To develop, implement and manage the sales and marketing strategies and related activities for the SDG HK Division, especially in IDD Business Unit.
Job duties:
- Develop and implement sales plans and approaches in line with the overall SDG strategy formulated by the Sr. Commercial Manager.
- Identify and generate new business opportunities on an ongoing basis in order to achieve predetermined sales targets.
- Lead and coach IDD team to prepare and present sales proposals and presentations to new and existing customers in order to negotiate and close deals.
- Build strategic working relationships with customers and maintain a high level of contact to ensure the specific requirements are addressed.
- Closely work with Service support FSE and Field Application Support FAS and to provide professional and expertise customer support service in all interactions with clients.
- Closely monitor competitors and maintain customers’ database.
- Attend Regional/Global business review call on updating business status and support needs.
- Report on sales opportunities and achievements as required (weekly and monthly).
- Product management in the development of new products and solutions.
- Lead and handle New Product Launch — including all aspects of application, customers’ training and daily operation follow up.
- Lead and organize regular product seminars and demonstrations.
- Work closely with other functional leaders (e.g. finance, Regulatory and value stream etc) to manage the IDD business and projects according to company policy.
Keys to Success:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field required; Master’s degree preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of sales experience with 2 years coaching/management experience in laboratory, scientific, or healthcare markets.
- Strong technical background with the ability to understand customer applications and laboratory workflows.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Exceptional communication, active listening, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain customer relationships, with a demonstrated track record of success.
- Proficient with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical skills and strategic-planning capability; results-oriented with a consistent record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a matrix organization.
- Fluent in English.
