Responsibilities / Tasks
- Customer facing - LPT sales across the region.
- Region: South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Lesotho, Swaziland, Zambia, Malawi, Angola, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Somalia, South Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, Comoros, Seychelles, Mauritius, Madagascar and Reunion
- Plan and carry out direct marketing and sales activities in conjunction with agreed budgets (Order intake, Sales, Gross Margins).
- Achieve sales related budgets and focus on growth opportunities in entire region.
- Account Management: Maintain and enhance relationships with existing customers in Southern and Eastern Africa, ensuring their needs are met and identifying opportunities to sell additional services, components, and projects.
- New Business Development: Actively prospect and develop new business opportunities in the region, targeting customers.
- Increase market penetration and coverage – by regular face to face meetings and interaction with customers and potential customers.
- Carry out market research on competitors and market surveys.
- Plan, organize, lead and control sales process from initial stage to handover to customer.
- Liaise with the relevant internal GEA departments to be able to execute a sale from Purchasing to after sales services.
- Attend training sessions Local, International and eLearning’s online – to develop the relevant knowledge and skills.
- Maintain and develop a computerized customer and prospect database on CRM.
- Support product development projects and contribute to defining priorities.
- Record all sales activities on the CRM system.
- Manage Leads / Opportunities / Complete visit reports after every meeting – load this on the CRM Platform.
- Customer Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact with customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues in engineering and service teams to deliver comprehensive solutions that meet customer needs.
Your Profile / Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and/or Commercial Sales.
- Min 5 years’ relevant experience in similar functions.
- Significant front sales experience, in a technical environment.
- Deep understanding of process engineering and ability to translate customer requirements into scope of work.
- Deep practical know-how of state-of-the-art sales process, organization methods and tools (e.g. ordering, pricing, CRM).
- Proven superior skills in international negotiation & contracting with customers in countries across the world.
- Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles.
- Strong experience in FMCG projects.
- Team player, ability to develop strong customer relationships and skilled negotiator.
- Very good communication skills, strong salesperson.
- Strong account management abilities and skill to engage with customers at various levels.
- Drive to develop new customer opportunities.
- Ability to work independently and manage their customer accounts to achieve budget.
- Open-minded and solution oriented, strong problem-solving skills.
