Sales Engineer - Automotive

Equifax is seeking an experienced Sales Engineer to join our Automotive vertical, which includes Automotive Retail, Lending, and Alliances.

In this customer-facing solutioning role, you will be the primary technical resource responsible for understanding the full technical and data/analytics landscape of accounts in order to translate customer needs and imperatives into potential opportunities for Equifax.


What you will do

  • Act as a translator of our customer’s analytics and technical environments and connect them to potential Equifax solutions
  • Support Account Executives and Solution Sales Executives in identifying, proposing, and closing customer-value-driving solutions
  • Proactively identify and design data, analytics, and/or technical analyses to identify and qualify new sales opportunities
  • Help shape customer-relevant demos
  • Foster strong working relationships with key analytics and technology influencers and buyers within customer's organizations
  • Develop deep knowledge of business, analytics, and technical environment in which covered accounts operate


What experience you need

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of work experience as a Sales Engineer and/or B2B sales experience working with Enterprise-level clients
  • Experience with DaaS and/or SaaS solutions
  • Proven ability to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into business value for customers​
  • Ability to travel 10-15% and be onsite with clients​

What could set you apart

  • Familiarity with similar products and solutions as Equifax: credit risk, data-driven marketing, identity and fraud, commercial, etc.
  • Experience working in or selling into the automotive industry, strongly preferred
  • Exceptional presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all level
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to thrive in a client-facing role and enjoy solving complex technical and business challenges

Equifax is required by law to include a good-faith salary range for this role. This compensation range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to: skill sets; experience and training; and other business and organizational needs. At Equifax, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range is $133,770.00 to $175,000.00. This position is also eligible for our sales incentive compensation program at approximately 25%.
