Sales Director, South Germany (m/f/d)

Field Worker - DEU (Munich) Full time

As Sales Director for South Germany, you will be responsible for leading the team to best achieve the company's goals in the region with a focus on:

  • Being a leader and inspiring facilitator, "translator" and multiplier of GSK- values, culture, context
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of the commercial strategies and/or initiatives in compliance with all corporate and legal regulations
  • Define and manage all sales activities for optimal market development
  • Manage performance, commitment and development of the team as well as the individual employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for results for the geographical unit in the product line in terms of quantity and quality
  • Visionary leadership of the sales team and support of the ongoing change process (change management/culture of continuous learning)
  • Multiplier for continuous improvement, role model for constructive handling of change ("lead by example"), digitalization, project management, shaper of "ways of working"
  • Leading employees, taking into account the various aspects of the leadership role (manager, leader, coach, trainer, consultant, mentor, multiplier, role model); potential-oriented development and sustainable performance management at the individual level)
  • Ensuring compliance with all internal and external regulations (e.g. Code, ABAC, etc.)
  • Cost management so that cost targets/budgets are met and resources are used wisely
  • Development of a strategic line plan taking into account the specifications of the management as well as the global franchises (for all relevant target groups) and its implementation 
  • Content coordination and resource planning including coordination and implementation with all relevant functional areas for the line (pro-active interface management)
  • Performance management at individual and team level for the line, talent management and succession planning, supervision
  • Continuous improvement of the quality of the sales team in own area of responsibility by appropriate measures/concepts as well as by promoting a culture of learning
  • Supervision of opinion leaders and decision makers on senior level

Qualifications and Skills

  • Studies with an economic/scientific or natural/scientific/medical background preferred
  • Qualification according to § 75 AMG or relevant university degree
  • Understanding of the company strategy and the industry situation
  • Demonstrated management experience in a comparable sales position, as line manager or marketing manager for pharmaceuticals
  • Very good knowledge of the German healthcare system and its opinion leaders/decision makers
  • Very good knowledge of English (presentation skills)
  • Entrepreneurial and strategic thinking (business acumen, direction setting) and the ability to operationalize this sustainably through regional managers
  • Ability to influence senior management level and strategic/tactical marketing issues
  • Excellent communication skills, argumentation skills and presentation skills
