Purpose of the role
Overall leadership and management of the ANZ Trade sales function ( Retail and Export)
Ensure operational objectives are achieved through excellence of execution across the portfolio to achieve the strategic intent, market growth goal and financial objectives.
Drive a high performing team culture, building the sales function capabilities (including indirect sales team) , to ensure and champion ongoing people development.
Play a key role as part of the ANZ leadership team.
Responsibilities
Lead and inspire the Retail sales function to meet Abbott Nutrition’s business objectives.
Lead and create a culture of collaboration between sales and with other cross functional teams – marketing, finance, regulatory, Medical, Supply etc.
Build high performing teams by modeling and coaching direct reports to develop high performing teams and a performance culture.
Identify, recruit, select and develop talent to develop future Abbott leaders.
Translate business priorities into a strategy that resonates with team members that results in driving customer value.
Achieve business objectives by leveraging the strengths and capabilities across the Retail Sales and Cust Marketing function
Ensure the field team, inclusive of third-party reps, have the required competencies, knowledge and skills to meet and achieve the sales objectives and intended growth. Develop and implement strategies to provide needed learning activities to fill any gaps in existing capabilities.
Define and coordinate sales training programs that enable the sales function to achieve their potential and support company objectives.
Ensures and oversees that compensation, incentive and performance management systems support attainment of desired behaviours and establishes Abbott Nutrition to be known as an employer of choice.
Develop annual strategic sales function strategies that will support the delivery of current and future business objectives.
Provide the required oversight to ensure that the strategic intent is translated into concrete tactical plans. Monitor progress against goals and oversee development and implementation of needed corrective actions.
Partner with Marketing to ensure the business is engaging in promotional efforts aligned with customer insights.
Develop and strengthen strategic relationships with key customers (e.g. Top banners, key accounts, KOLs , buyer groups ,Wholesalers and export distributor ) to support commercial activities in alignment with compliance guidelines and company policies.
Required Qualifications:
Experience in the Australian retail pharmacy channel within OTC/Fast Moving Consumer Good (FMCG) and export management
Related sales, marketing , trade marketing, and strategy development experience
Management skills - Consultative selling skills
Proven track record of success in all respects of selling and leadership technical knowledge, selling techniques, interpreting/analysing data
Previous leadership experience essential
