Sales Associate I
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Carries out a wide range of duties related to the operations of the Investment Services program and administrative support to Financial Advisors. Executes service requests including address changes, financial transactions, and facilitating document processing. The incumbent will also be required to set appointments for both prospects and existing clients and will maintain score card requirements for such. Other administrative tasks include, planning sales meetings and acting as Disaster Recovery Coordinator for the department and other administrative duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Pre-qualifies leads and sets appointments. Schedules 30 – 50 interview and/or annual review appointments per week for representatives. Maintains referral database with acceptable level in open queue. Contacts referrals within established turnaround standards, tracks referral progress, enters notes, and provides feedback to referrer and Financial Advisor where necessary
- Receives an average of 30 incoming phone calls per day
- Carries out and tracks outcome of outbound call campaigns
- Meets or exceeds established functional and core compentency goals
- Provides quality account servicing while embracing a continuous improvement philosophy
- Cultivates strong working relationship with credit union staff and members
- Provides administrative support such as acting as Disaster Recovery Administrator, planning sales meetings, setting up departmental meetings and similar administrative responsibilities
- Processes paperwork, reviews for accuracy and completeness before submission, and images all documents into file. Monitors and reports all suitability, compliance, or paperwork deficiencies. Follows up with representative, member client, or broker/dealer to obtain necessary documentation in good order.
- Complies with all applicable VyStar, FINRA, SEC, State of Florida and broker/dealer laws, regulations, policies and guidelines. Conducts business according to high standards of honesty, fairness, and integrity.
- Develops and maintains up to date familiarity with credit union products and a general understanding of investment product offerings.
- Uses educational resources offered through credit union and broker/dealer to develop knowledge base, including but not limited to, formalized training programs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1 year of securities industry experience or 3 years in financial services industry
- Demonstrated history of self-development and progression in prior roles
- May work toward obtaining Series 7 license
- Proficient in use of office equipment, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to members, product sponsors, Financial Advisors and relevant staff persons, interpret and respond clearly and effectively to spoken requests over the phone or in person, and to verbal or written instructions.

EDUCATION
- High School education or equivalent completion certificate. College degree may be used in lieu of industry experience.
