Position Overview
Encore Wire is seeking a seasoned sales professional to join our team as a Key Account Manager. This role is pivotal in driving strategic engagement with key national and regional OEM customers. Based in McKinney, Texas, the position will oversee several high-value accounts across the United States.

Essential Job Functions 

  • Develop and execute local sales strategies aligned with company-wide business goals.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to influence product marketing, account penetration, distribution, and commercial operations.
  • Lead and coordinate efforts with manufacturing representatives to support strategic OEM accounts.
  • Set and monitor sales goals, ensuring consistent achievement through strategic planning and daily engagement.
  • Identify growth opportunities within existing and prospective customer bases.
  • Manage sales activities including pricing, quotations, orders, and shipments; analyze data to track performance.
  • Provide market and competitive intelligence to internal teams.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Ensure sales targets are met, including volume and product mix, by setting appropriate pricing and margins.
  • Participate in contract negotiations with major clients.
  • Monitor client financial health and communicate risk changes to internal stakeholders.
  • Own the sales process and support training and development initiatives.  

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience leading direct and indirect sales teams.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Proven success in growing sales territories in both flow and project-based business models.
  • Strong leadership and forecasting skills; ability to anticipate market shifts and customer needs.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience managing manufacturing reps and local distributors to drive growth.
  • Preferred: 3+ years in OEM and/or technical wire & cable sales.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 40% of the time.
