As a member of the Safety Development & Processes (SDP) team within Product Development Safety, you will lead the evolution of global processes that enable world-class safety and vigilance activities across Roche’s drug and device development portfolio.. In this influential role, you will operate as a Global Process Owner or senior subject-matter expert, shaping the frameworks that underpin our safety activities for medicines, devices, and digital health solutions. You will drive strategic innovation and process excellence to ensure Roche remains at the forefront of patient safety and regulatory compliance.
The Opportunity
As the Safety Process Director / Senior Director, you will design and govern the global operating models that translate complex safety requirements into scalable, high-impact clinical and post-marketing practices. This role is internally known as Safety Process Director/Senior Director.
Lead the design and continuous improvement of global safety processes, ensuring they remain robust, agile, and aligned with industry-leading standards.
Act as a Global Process Owner or senior expert for complex safety and vigilance activities, providing strategic direction across the organization.
Partner with key stakeholders, including Safety Science Leaders, the QPPV/PRRC offices, and cross-functional global teams to harmonize safety initiatives.
Drive process innovation by identifying opportunities to strengthen Roche’s safety capabilities and participating in external industry collaborations.
Translate scientific and regulatory foundations of Signal Management and Risk Management into effective global safety practices.
Influence internal governance discussions to ensure safety and vigilance practices support the safe development of innovative medicines and digital health solutions.
Who you are
You are a strategic leader who thrives in a global matrix environment, combining deep technical expertise in Safety Science with the ability to coach and catalyze change across organizational boundaries.
You hold a degree in Medicine, Life Sciences, Healthcare, Engineering, or a related discipline.
You bring extensive experience in Pharmacovigilance and Safety Science, with deep expertise in Signal Management and Risk Management.
You possess a strong command of global pharmacovigilance and safety regulations (such as FDA, EMA, and MHRA).
You have a proven track record of leading complex initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders to drive strategic improvement.

This role is based onsite at our Welwyn, United Kingdom office. Our team follows a hybrid work structure, requiring a fixed number of onsite days per week.
