Job Summary: You will serve as a SAFETY & OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH MANAGER in the FORCE SAFETY (N9FS) DIVISION of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND.
Major Duties:
Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience performing safety investigations and directs the systematic compilation and analysis of mishap data and hazards and risk analyses; Experience interpreting and/or evaluating the accumulation of data; and develops appropriate controls to mitigate hazards related to high risk maritime operations. Experience maintaining current understanding of regulations, practices, principles and/or procedures associated with SOH management, ORM, and SMS. Experience conducting progressive analysis of job hazards, ORM, SMS and other analytical techniques sufficient to perform operational ashore and afloat safety visits, assessments and mishap investigations to evaluate safety compliance and culture, and identify causal factors through review of material condition, interviews, event timelines and other circumstances. Experience planning, organizing and directing applicable parts of a Command SOH program covering a large variety of Command operations and administrative tasking both ashore and afloat. Experience interpreting engineering drawings and specifications sufficient to identify potential hazardous conditions in proposed designs and modifications. Experience communicating effectively, orally and in writing, with a variety of internal personnel and numerous contractors and representatives of other organizations on wide ranging controversial, sensitive, SOH problems.
