How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

In this position, the incumbent is accountable to assist the HSE Manager in implementing, improving and maintaining the relevant ISO, Industrial Management System & supporting systems including compliance to the OHS Act. Assisting with Management System Internal Audits and completing the safety statistics, reports and managing SHEQ System regarding Safety and training on the system.

Main Accountabilities

  • Compiling statistics and Safety Reports and issuing of the reports -  Including the following, weekly update of Safety Stats for Opscom Meeting (by 12:00 every Friday), all Monthly Safety Reports (by 2nd working day of every month), reporting on Aleris and uploading RCA’s (when required), SACGA Reports (Quarterly - by middle of the month following the end of the Quarter) and Assist with Annual Reports & Annual Aleris reporting.

  • Assist with Safety Training, Conduct Management System Internal Audits, control / follow up on reporting and closure of incidents / accidents / Near Misses and relevant RCA’s

  • General Admin Duties for the Safety Department (Travel, filing, etc)

  • Liaise with all Facilities / Departments on Safety requirements, Coordinate all World Wide Safety Campaigns

  • Issue Internal Audit Checklists & Collect Corrective Action

  • Manage all Facility / Departmental Management Review Minutes

  • Compile monthly Quality Statistics (Customer Cares, Nonconformance, Internal Audits)

  • Manage SHEQ System Modules for Safety & Quality

  • Notify Reviewers and Approvers of expiring Procedures & Work Instructions

Educational requirements
Education: Matric certificate plus Safety tertiary  Diploma/Degree.

Experience
0- 2 Years experience in Safety

Knowledge of ISO 14000 / ISO 18000 would be advantageous
