Job Description:
Parsons are looking for Safety Inspector to be part of our team. The Safety Inspector will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, policies, and procedures during night shifts on a construction project. The role involves monitoring site activities, identifying potential hazards, and implementing corrective measures to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Conduct regular inspections of the construction site during night shifts to identify unsafe conditions, practices, or equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Proactively identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Monitor high-risk activities such as heavy equipment operation, electrical work, and elevated tasks.
- Investigate and document any incidents, near-misses, or unsafe conditions observed during the shift.
- Prepare detailed reports and communicate findings to the project management team.
- Conduct safety briefings and toolbox talks for night shift workers.
- Promote awareness of safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Act as the first point of contact for emergencies during the night shift.
- Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure timely response to incidents.
- Verify that workers are using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ensure adherence to site-specific safety guidelines and local regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and corrective actions taken.
- Submit daily safety reports to the project management team.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Safety Inspector, preferably in construction projects.
- OSHA, NEBOSH, or equivalent safety certifications.
- Strong knowledge of construction safety standards and regulations.
- Excellent observation and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and reporting abilities.
- Ability to work independently during night shifts.
- Night shift role with working hours from 01:00 AM to 10:00 AM, including a 1-hour break.
- Physically demanding environment requires frequent movement across the construction site.
- Exposure to outdoor conditions and construction-related hazards.
