Safety and Compliance Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY

The Safety & Compliance Coordinator role is responsible for assisting on various safety and transportation compliance tasks and responsibilities across the HouseSmart organization. This role will also assist with safety projects, reporting, and overall team support functions.

Assist with Transportation Compliance

  • Work closely with field and Home Office HouseSmart managers to assist with the monitoring of compliance through our fleet camera system.
  • Reviewing and collecting data to report on overall vehicle compliance, providing back to leadership for next steps on reporting development.
  • Support safety training and compliance completion for drivers and transportation staff.
  • Assist the onboarding of new team members on the driver qualification piece, partnering with internal teams and new hires to coordinate new hire first day details for transportation compliance including, but not limited to, transportation TenStreet application support, driver-qualification documentation gathering support, and general transportation compliance questions.
  • Support accident reporting, investigation, and claims management involving company vehicles.

Support the Safety & Compliance Team and Team Members with General Support

  • Provide consistent and professional support to field and Home Office teams on various safety questions and functions including, but not limited to, policy questions, system logins, acquisition support activities, etc.
  • Support with the tracking & completion of various safety and compliance trainings, learning courses, training programs, etc.
  • Provide reporting support to Safety team and leadership to inform on safety training completion, field DVIR (daily vehicle inspection report) completion, GPS monitoring, authorized driver records, and other reports that help make safe, operational decisions.  
  • Propose and collaborate with the Safety team non possible processes enhancement, program  additions or changes, etc. that could close operational gaps or improve effectiveness.
  • Partner with Safety leadership on the development of an Inspections Scorecard. Use the data collected to benefit the safety and compliance goals and initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field preferred.

Years of Related Experience: 1+ years of experience in a safety-focused role or relevant experience.

Licenses/Certifications : OSHA Certification or similar safety certification a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):  

  • Knowledge and understanding of OSHA guidelines as well as DOT compliance a huge plus.
  • Ability to stay organized and utilize time management skills to efficiently complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both in written and oral communications.
  • Excellent attention to detail when working through any requested task.
  • Team player that is willing to learn and grow with the team.
  • Reliable with strong attendance and work ethic.
  • Ability to pass criminal background check and drug screen, post-offer.
  • Ability to work with and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability and willingness to travel when necessary (less than or equal to 15% of total job function).
