MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Requirement Elicitation and Analysis
- Business Requirement Definition: Leads workshops with Traders, Trade Controllers and Trade Operations to extract and document detailed business requirements (BRDs).
- Logic Translation: Translates complex commercial and operations logic—including pricing formulas, stock valuation, and optionality etc —into clear, unambiguous functional requirements for the SAP technical team.
- Sustainability & Traceability (Palm Oil): Define and validate requirements for EUDR (European Union Deforestation Regulation) compliance and RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) certification within the SAP ACM solution. Ensure that critical sustainability attributes are captured as purchase/sale contract requirements and accurately flow through logistics execution via batch characteristics to maintain the chain of custody.
- Gap Analysis: Conducts detailed analysis of the "As-Is" trading processes versus the "To-Be" SAP standard capabilities, identifying critical gaps where business processes must adapt or where system enhancement is required for financial compliance or operations continuity.
2. Functional Design Validation
- Solution Verification: Reviews functional design documents provided by SAP ACM, SD, and FICO consultants to ensure they satisfy the core business requirements.
- Logistics & Execution Integration: Validates the design of Nominations and Delivery Execution processes to safeguard the integration integrity between SAP ACM and SAP Transportation Management (TM).
- Calculation Validation: Independently verifies the accuracy of critical system algorithms, including Mark-to-Market (MTM) valuations, Unrealized/Realized PnL attribution, and FX exposure calculations, ensuring they align with approved financial models.
- Design Authority: Serves as the gatekeeper for functional design approval, rejecting technical proposals that fail to account for specific trading nuances (e.g., washouts, circles, basis risk).
3. Quality Assurance and Testing
- Scenario Definition: Develops comprehensive "Real Life" test scenarios that cover the full trade lifecycle, including edge cases such as contract amendments, quality claims, complex settlement logic, traceability failures.
- UAT Orchestration: Coordinates and manages the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phase for the commercial track, defining acceptance criteria and ensuring business users execute tests rigorously.
- Defect Triage: Analyzes functional defects reported during testing, distinguishing between system errors and user data issues, and articulates the necessary fixes to the development team.
4. Process Modelling and Implementation Support
- Process Mapping: Develops detailed process flow diagrams covering Deal Capture, Nominations, Risk Management, Logistics Execution, and Financial Settlement.
- Change Facilitation: Supports the organizational change management effort by articulating the impact of the new system on daily trading operations and assisting in the preparation of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Data Validation: Defines validation rules for the migration of open contracts and historical trade data, ensuring financial integrity during the cutover from legacy systems.
