A little bit about our team:

We are a global music publishing company, home to a wide array of legendary songwriters and a rich catalog of contemporary hits and influential standards. With us, you’ll develop a comprehensive understanding of copyrights and royalties administration while having fun and working on some of the most iconic songs ever written!

Your role:

We’re looking for a dynamic self-starter to join our newly evolved regional Royalty Payable team in our Publishing Administration function. Reporting directly to the Manager, Royalty Payable APAC based in Kuala Lumpur, you will be one of our key contributors to support the Manager and Regional Admin Lead for the implementation of major strategic initiatives, including but not limited to, distribution cycle enhancements and writer paythrough project. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who wants to support the foundational rollout of a new regional hub and ensure our songwriters receive gold-standard experience. We are open to candidates being based in either our Kuala Lumpur or Taipei offices.

Here you’ll get to:

1. Strategic & Project Support

  • Distribution Enhancements: Provide administrative support for the implementation of new regional distribution workflows, ensuring data readiness and assisting with the transition to optimized payment cycles.  Upload financial transactions and other data to support timely and accurate royalty reporting.

  • Writer Paythrough Project: Collaborate with the Manager, wider Administration, finance and business teams to execute the "paythrough" project, an initiative aimed at maximizing revenue for our songwriters by streamlining how income is directed.

  • System Optimization: Assist in the maintenance and data-cleansing of the respective in-house systems to ensure the new APAC function operates with a high standard of data integrity.

2. Royalty & Distribution Operations

  • Regional Distributions: Support end-to-end outbound royalty reporting in the APAC region.

  • Data Verification: Execute meticulous pre and post distribution checks to ensure accuracy in songwriter payments and adherence to internal deadlines.

  • Payee Governance: Manage the verification of writer forms and update sensitive client files (bank details, tax status) in line with global security and compliance measures.

  • Vendor Management: Maintain the SAP Vendor Master database by executing the end-to-end onboarding process for new clients, including unique Vendor ID creation and the precise amendment of existing master data records.

3. High-Touch Writer Service

  • Query Management: Act as a one of the dedicated point of contact for writers and publishers to resolve royalty payable related inquiries in a professional and timely manner.

  • Client Engagement: Support the regional adoption of the WCM Client Portal by conducting demonstrations and assisting writers in navigating their earnings data.

About You

  • Meticulous & Numerical: You have a natural affinity for data integrity and understand that precision is the bedrock of writer satisfaction.

  • Organized & Agile:  You bring strong organizational and time management skills, maintaining focus and professional poise when navigating competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Systems Literate: You are comfortable navigating complex financial or royalty databases (e.g., SAP, systems like Counterpoint or Music Maestro) and learning new proprietary software.

  • Excel Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced Excel/Google Sheet skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.) are essential for managing high-volume data.

  • The "Builder" Mindset: You are excited to be part of a newly formed team and are happy to help document new processes and identify workflow bottlenecks.

  • Professional Communicator: You can represent WCM professionally across different cultures, translating complex data into clear answers for our clients.

Experience Requirements

  • Foundational Experience: 1–3 years in financial administration, customer/client service, data management, or music/media royalties.

  • Sector Interest: A demonstrable interest in music publishing and the mechanics of how creators are paid.

  • Adaptability: Experience working in a project-based environment or supporting a team through a period of change.

  • Regional Context: Familiarity with APAC business environments or experience supporting multi-territory operations is a plus.

  • Language Skills as the “Plus” Factor:  As you will be supporting a vast and diverse territories, we would love it if you have proficiency in English plus one or more of the following: Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, or Asian language. This will be a significant advantage in resolving queries and managing data for our regional rosters.
