Job Summary:

Reporting to the Superintendent of Planning & Turnaround, the Rotating Engineer is responsible for providing machinery maintenance engineering support and services to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Courtright manufacturing facilities. In this role, you will take ownership of all rotating machines, work to optimize manufacturing equipment performance, and work closely with manufacturing team members to provide technical direction and guidance on safe design, mechanical integrity, and facility reliability. You will lead and supervise the site’s reliability team, consisting of a Reliability Engineer and a Condition Monitoring Specialist. In addition, you will work with the Planners and oversee the planning, preventive, and predictive schedules for machines, overhauls, and other maintenance activities to ensure that machines are operated in a safe manner with high reliability. This role will interact with all levels of leadership and company subject matter experts (SMEs).

Job Description:

Reporting to the Superintendent of Planning & Turnaround, the Rotating Engineer is responsible for providing machinery maintenance engineering support and services to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Courtright manufacturing facilities. In this role, you will take ownership of all rotating machines, work to optimize manufacturing equipment performance, and work closely with manufacturing team members to provide technical direction and guidance on safe design, mechanical integrity, and facility reliability.  You will lead and supervise the site’s reliability team, consisting of a Reliability Engineer and a Condition Monitoring Specialist.  In addition, you will work with the Planners and oversee the planning, preventive, and predictive schedules for machines, overhauls, and other maintenance activities to ensure that machines are operated in a safe manner with high reliability.  This role will interact with all levels of leadership and company subject matter experts (SMEs).

You will:

  • Actively supports and participates in all Environment, Health, and Safety initiatives and activities.

  • Promote EH&S programs and ensure compliance within the Rotating and Reliability group

  • Works as a member of the Maintenance Supervisory Team, providing strong leadership to the site’s rotating equipment, including providing technical direction, ensuring mechanical integrity, and facility reliability

  • Performs technical evaluations of existing equipment, monitoring performance, investigating problems, and recommending improvements

  • Oversee machinery repair plan development, field repairs, and lead turnaround machinery overhauls

  • Provides advice on machinery performance, overhaul frequency and planning, spare parts, and work standards

  • The Rotating Engineer, in the execution of major capital improvement projects, will work closely with vendors, consultants, engineers, and contacts both inside and outside the company to maintain effective project execution

  • Collaborate with SME’s to define company standards and best practices around rotating equipment

  • Oversee the site’s reliability program and 5-year plan

  • Effectively utilizes the talents and develops the Reliability Team to ensure competent technical services

  • Supports equipment root cause analysis investigations

  • Contributes to the development and updates of the site’s Mechanical Integrity manual

  • Coordinates and effectively communicates with the Engineering and Maintenance Departments to promote good teamwork and enhance project development and execution

Incumbent Attributes:   

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering with P. Eng designation

  • Minimum 5-10 years’ experience related to Rotating Equipment engineering in an industrial plant, with in-depth knowledge of compressors (reciprocating and centrifugal), pumps, fans/blowers, large industrial motors, and steam turbines. Previous mechanical exposure in a continuous chemical production or refinery environment will be an asset.

  • Knowledge of Rotating Equipment Standards (API 610, 611, 617, 682, 687, etc.)

  • Proven technical and supervisory skills.

  • Commitment to process safety as the embodiment of corporate culture, responsibility, and accountability

Salary   

The estimated base pay for this position is typically between $ 128,000.00 and $171,000.00 

The actual base pay for the position may be influenced by factors such as education, training, skills, qualifications, competencies, years of experience, job-related knowledge, and the scope of the role, and may be outside the posted pay range.
